Sandvik Mining and Construction Zambia is a Sales Unit based in Kitwe, within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions, a Business Area, a leading supplier of equipment and tools, service and support for the mining industry. We also provide solutions and knowledge in a wide range of applications such as rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunnelling and quarrying.

Main Responsibilities
- Weekly replenishment: Responsible for weekly replenishment by monitoring inventory levels to ensure that they remain within set parameters at all times.
- Stock parameters: Responsible for stock parameters to ensure agreed service level is met to fulfil customer demand.
- Inventory planning: Accountable for ensuring the process of determining the optimal quantity within the network and timing of inventory, aligned with sales/demand and production capacity.
- Responsible in phasing in and out products/inventory: Collaborate and support sales in phasing in and out products and inventory to effectively supply warehouses based on demand, capacity and lead time.
- Responsible for redistribution between warehouses in the region, and lead inventory optimization initiatives. align activities with Sales Area
- Analytics: Use data, trends, and customer demands to analysis to create and update inventory list, track inventory levels and determine the amount of inventory needed for each product. Source of data will be Voyager, Power BI and ERP’s design others reports as required. Utilize the reporting tools available to make necessary analyses
- Inform Sales Area about information that affects the customer: Provide advice and expertise to sales department about information that affects the customers or when there is too much or to little inventory on hand.
- Order management and operational buying with in LOA : Responsible for the process of order capturing, tracking, and fulfilling all order from vendors IW, including track and trace of shipments
- OSMI and slow moving: Responsible to analyse and make a plan for slow moving inventory.
- Accountable to define logistics of goods between Vendor and In Market warehouses
- Accountable for aligning with sourcing on all related topics point being the point of contact.
- Inventory planning: Tactical and strategical view of the supply situation from Vendors to all IW:s for defined products. Understand where there are gaps, what we can do to resolve the gaps and if there are areas where service will be impacted further out in time
- Medium to long term productions plans: Responsible for the medium to long term planning of defined products for our vendors. This includes changes of allocations between different vendors.
- Contributes to S&OP for the specific Vendors and their performance.
- Forecast and procure raw material from overseas suppliers linked to the local suppliers product demand and supply local manufacturers with raw material in-line with the sales demand for the products in the Sales Area
Your profile
- A relevant degree will be advantageous.
- Previous work experience from mining sector is an advantage.
- At least 3 experience in inventory management, forecasting & demand planning.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Root cause analysis.
- Ability to own and implement process changes.
- Excellent presentation skills (verbal and written).
- Highly energetic individual with ability to work in a team.
- Knowledge of Sales &Operations Planning process.
- Experience with any Forecasting Tool.
- MS Office skills with advanced level Excel.
- Excellent time management skills.
- Ability to effectively prioritize work in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail.
Notice Period
Notice period on all positions is 30 working days from date of resignation unless otherwise agreed to by managers.
