About the opportunity

We’re looking for a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer to design and integrate advanced automation solutions for heavy machinery typically in the mining industry. You’ll be responsible for the end-to-end mechanical design process, from concept development and CAD modelling to prototyping, testing, and deployment. You’ll work on mechanical systems that support perception, control, and autonomous navigation, collaborating closely with robotics and software teams.

Responsibilities:

·Design robust attachments along with mechanical systems that support perception, control, and autonomous navigation technologies.

·Develop detailed 3D models, engineering drawings, and specifications.

·Perform detailed engineering analysis to ensure reliability and performance in harsh environments.

·Support the full product lifecycle, including design reviews, documentation, manufacturing, deployment and ongoing support.

·Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate mechanical systems with electronics, sensors, and software.

·Understand customer and project requirements.

·Support the installation and assembly phase of prototype components and parts. Evaluate the QA/QC process on new designs.

·Collaborate effectively with product managers and cross-functional teams, in a fast-paced and agile environment.

You’ll play a key role in delivering scalable, safe, and high-performance mechanical solutions, applying modern engineering practices and tools. This role includes periodic domestic and international travel to customer sites for installation, commissioning, and support.

About you

We are seeking a passionate Mechanical Design Engineer with a strong background in designing and developing complex mechanical systems. You will play a key role in designing advanced solutions for heavy machinery operating in dynamic mining environments. Your expertise in mechanical design, system integration, and field deployment will drive the development of safe, scalable, and high-performance robotic platforms.

You thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced setting, bringing together mechanical engineering, robotics, and industry-specific knowledge to create innovative solutions that push the boundaries of heavy equipment automation.
