Electrical Engineer

The position is in Sandvik’s Turku site which is the cutting-edge product development and manufacturing center for our Load and Haul equipment. Our mission is to advance the world through engineering. Do you share our mission?

In this role, you’ll dive headfirst into the electrifying world of electric and battery-powered vehicles. You’ll have the chance to work partially remotely, however occasional travel and presence is required in our division headquarters in Turku. Your primary areas of responsibility

As an Electrical Engineer, you are working with electrical systems of underground loading and hauling vehicles. Your main task is to deliver best-in-class electrical design in terms of safety, reliability, and quality for fully electric, hybrid and diesel-powered mining vehicles.

The main engineering area is our growing product range of fully electric (BEV) and hybrid vehicles (BHEV). You are taking part in New Product Development (NPD) as well as Current Product Engineering (CPE). Your main responsibilities are:

  • Circuit diagram design, voltage levels from 24V up to 1000V

  • Wiring harness and electrical cabinet design in 3D

  • Defining IO-list together with a control system engineer

  • Electrical component selection and validation

  • Ensuring to keep schedule in the own area as a member of NPD or CPE project design team

  • Actively supporting prototype manufacturing and start-up

  • Supporting production when needed

Your background

  • You have a suitable degree combined with work experience from electrical engineering, preferably from power electronic systems.

  • You may be in the beginning of your engineering career or have already some experiences of these tasks.

  • Experience from E3, NX or Teamcenter design tools are assets.

  • Also, knowledge in the field of mobile working machines, battery technology, electric powertrains or charging stations are seen as a benefit.

  • As a person you are innovative and open-minded with good co-operation skills.

  • Fluent English skill is mandatory.

  • Proactive and systematic way of working and excellent skills in problem solving will be needed and you can work under pressure in a multicultural stakeholder environment, and you have capability to meet the challenging targets in the field of electrical engineering.
