The position is in Sandvik’s Camarillo site which is the center of excellence and manufacturing location for our Load and Haul batteries. We are looking for a project manager in Product Line function (new products). After the onboarding period you have a possibility for hybrid work (partly remote). The role requires frequent physical attendance in the workshops, meetings and for example during prototype builds in Camarillo.

Your primary areas of responsibility

You have overall responsibility for project management in specific new product development or technical development projects. Responsibilities include project planning, management, execution, monitoring & controlling of the product development projects within the specified schedule, scope, budget, and quality. In this role your main responsibilities are:

  • Preparation of the project proposals; creating and updating the project plans focusing on work breakdown structure, resource planning and budget
  • Executing projects as per Sandvik project model and appropriate methods
  • Leading the project team with active and effective communication
  • Evaluating and reporting cost, schedule and progress of the engineering, procurement, prototype manufacturing and testing
  • Developing of current project management and control way of working and processes

Your background and what we find important

  • You have a degree in a related field, preferably a M.Sc. or B.Sc. in Technology / Engineering or Commercial
  • You have already gained experience in project management. Preferably with hardware or product development and engineering including test management
  • As we’re a global organization, you need to be fluent in English, both written and verbal
  • MS Office advanced level usage, knowledge of MS Project, PPM Microfocus or other project management related software is highly appreciated
  • As a person, you are proactive, and you have excellent skills in problem solving. You enjoy working under pressure in the multicultural project environment leading the project team to meet the challenging project targets and milestones
  • You understand that importance of psychological safety and have the right “can do” attitude with a target to exceed the Customer expectations
  • Position includes some project related travel (usually planned well in advance)
  • Previous experience about batteries and/or electric vehicles is seen as an advantage

Pay Range: $111,000 - $150,000
