About the opportunity

The VMI (Vendor Managed Inventory) Stockroom Controller is responsible for delivering warehouse and distribution services to both internal and external customers. The role supports day-to-day operations by ensuring the timely and accurate supply of spare parts and materials from the warehouse to end users, in line with established warehousing and logistics procedures.

This is a DIDO role based at the Cowal Gold Mine, located near West Wyalong, NSW. The position involves daily liaison with the customer’s on-site teams to coordinate the efficient delivery of materials and spare parts, supporting safe and productive site operations.

Roster: 8 days on, 6 days off - 12 hour DAY shifts

Responsibilities

  • To perform work in a safe manner in a team environment.

  • Adhere to all Sandvik EHS and environmental policies and procedures.

  • Build and maintain strong customer relationships, actively identifying opportunities for business growth.

  • Support sales teams and promote the company and service department through ethical and professional practices.

  • Uphold high standards of quality in line with company objectives and current Australian standards.

  • Accurately record, report, and follow up on warranty claims in accordance with company policies.

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to resolve warranty and service-related matters.

  • Oversee spare parts and materials management, including receiving, receipting, picking, packing, despatch, and shipping documentation.

  • Maintain accurate order processing, inventory control, and stock management, including cycle counts and stocktakes.

  • Perform detailed data entry and ensure accurate record keeping in company IT systems.

  • Contribute to safe work practices, warehouse upkeep, and general housekeeping while fostering a team-oriented environment.

  • Provide flexibility by assisting with project work, supporting field service teams, and relieving Team Leaders when required.

About you

We are seeking applicants who reside within a reasonable driving distance of West Wyalong in Central NSW and are available to work an 8 days on, 6 days off roster. Accommodation will be provided during the roster period.

The successful candidate will bring previous experience in warehouse or stores operations, preferably within a mechanical environment handling heavy spare parts. Essential requirements include a current Forklift Licence, a valid “C” Class Driver’s Licence, strong computer literacy, and experience working with mainframe or inventory management systems.

With a solid understanding of the mining industry and its business processes, you will demonstrate a strong and proven safety culture, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a strong customer service focus.

Additionally, you must be able to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug and alcohol test.
