Legale

Legal Counsel, M&A – Sandvik Rock Processing

Join a close legal and strategy team at Sandvik Rock Processing, where business judgment matters just as much as legal expertise and where you will help shape transactions from start to finish.

What we offer:

  • A genuinely broad M&A scope across global transactions
  • Direct exposure to strategy teams and business area leadership
  • A team that invests in your development and supports learning through experience

About the job
We are looking for an M&A Legal Counsel to join our Legal and Compliance team in Malmö. In this role, you work on transactions across our global Rock Processing divisions, from initial discussions through closing and integration. You collaborate closely with our corporate M&A and strategy team, as well as business area leadership, helping drive transactions forward through sound legal and commercial judgment.

Alongside the M&A agenda, and where capacity allows, you also support our teams in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia on a range of commercial legal matters, including contract review, dispute resolution and other business-related legal issues.

This is a role for someone who wants to take ownership, influence outcomes, and contribute throughout the full deal lifecycle.

Included in your mission is to

  • Take part in leading the legal workstream throughout M&A projects, including acquisitions, carve-outs, and partnership/JV arrangements
  • Support legal activities through post-closing integration
  • Advise on deal structure, risk mitigation, and negotiation strategy
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and ensure key workstreams stay on track
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a dynamic transaction environment
  • Support teams in Europe, the Middle East and Central Asia with sales and commercial legal matters, including contract review, dispute resolution and other legal support, where capacity allows

Location and travel

The position is based in Hyllie in Malmö, Sweden. Travel is required depending on business needs and transaction activities.

Your profile
We are looking for someone who combines strong legal expertise with commercial understanding and a genuine interest in driving business outcomes. Typically, you have 5–8 years of relevant M&A experience in a similar deal facing role, where you have been actively involved in negotiations, transaction execution and stakeholder management. We welcome candidates from both in-house and private practice backgrounds who can demonstrate strong transaction capability and the right mindset.

You recognize yourself in most of the following:

  • Experience participating directly in negotiations and transaction execution
  • Ability to balance legal risk with commercial priorities and deal value
  • Motivation to build a long-term career within a business environment
  • Confidence navigating ambiguity and unfamiliar challenges
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage several workstreams simultaneously

You are curious, pragmatic, and collaborative. You communicate clearly, build trust across functions, and stay focused even when priorities shift and timelines are demanding. Most importantly, you enjoy working closely with colleagues and contributing to shared success.

The team

You join a close legal and strategy team where collaboration is informal, business-focused, and highly integrated. The legal and strategy team works closely together across M&A projects, creating an environment where ideas, perspectives, and practical problem-solving are valued.
