As Head of Corporate Business Development & Acquisitions, you connect organic development, partnerships and acquisitions, ensuring that opportunities are identified, prioritized and developed into clear strategic choices and executable initiatives.

Balancing two equally important mandates, you lead corporate business development while owning the capabilities for acquisition origination, integration and value realization. This is an opportunity to combine strategic direction with hands-on leadership across the full growth and acquisition lifecycle.

About the job

You set the direction for Sandvik Coromant’s corporate business development and acquisitions agenda. With accountability for portfolio quality, strategic business cases, cross-functional orchestration and people leadership, you enable informed decisions and maintain continuity from early opportunity assessment through integration and value realization. Formal transaction execution and final investment decisions sit with the Deal Lead and relevant governance bodies.

Job responsibilities

Lead the identification, assessment and development of strategic growth opportunities, adjacent businesses, future growth arenas and new business models.

Own the opportunity portfolio and Build, Buy or Partner assessments, providing clear recommendations on the most appropriate path to realization.

Set the strategic direction for acquisition themes and guide their translation into actionable search fields, target profiles and investment hypotheses.

Strengthen the origination pipeline and ensure that opportunities entering formal execution have a clear rationale, value thesis, business ownership and sufficient validation.

Own and continuously develop the integration and value realization capabilities, including governance, planning, performance follow-up and lessons learned.

Lead professionals working with origination, integration and value realization, while coordinating senior stakeholders and the wider business development community.

Location & flexibility

This position is flexible within Europe, with a strong preference for Sweden or another location close to one of our key office sites.

Your profile

You combine strategic thinking with strong commercial judgment and extensive experience in business development, acquisitions and people leadership. Comfortable moving between enterprise-level direction and practical execution, you translate complex information into clear choices, priorities and actions.

Your background includes

Extensive experience leading strategic business development and acquisition-related work.

Strong capability in opportunity assessment, portfolio management and Build, Buy or Partner decisions.

Experience shaping acquisition themes, business cases, integration approaches and value realization plans.

Proven people leadership, including coaching, capability development, resource allocation and succession planning.

The ability to engage senior stakeholders and coordinate work across organizational and functional boundaries.

Strategic and decisive, you balance competing priorities without losing sight of the broader growth agenda. You build alignment through collaboration, challenge constructively and communicate complex matters with clarity. A structured approach, sound judgment and the ability to connect strategy with execution are central to your success.
