We are looking for a meticulous & proactive Sourcing Quality Engineer for our newly established heavy machinery assembly factory in Seremban - Sendayan Techvalley for the underground load & haul equipment.

About the Division

The Load & Haul Division, the home of Sandvik loaders and trucks for underground mining business. Here we are safer, stronger, and smarter, as we like to say it. We have been the market leader by accelerating diesel and battery-electric equipment development, with sharpened priorities. We work in close co-operation with the sales areas within the Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area, to provide the best possible service to our customers. Load & Haul home base is located in Turku, Finland. Additionally, we have operations in Camarillo, USA and Changzhou, China as well in Seremban, Malaysia.

Do we share the same goals?

In this position, your primary responsibility is to develop Country or Regional Supplier Base, improving supplier quality, cost and deliveries (QCD) apart from supporting operation for claim execution and root cause analysis. Besides optimization, training and implementation of SQE related processes and tools in alignment with development strategy. Actively communicate and collaborate with suppliers and internal Sandvik stakeholders.

  • Responsible for improving supply base by identifying opportunities for development, process, capacity, and capability
  • Responsible for identifying technical problems with suppliers, implementing, monitoring, and reporting on corrective actions
  • Review supplier manufacturing processes, collaborate with suppliers on process improvement and value enhancement opportunities to ensure zero defect performance
  • Manage supplier qualification and documentation process
  • Responsible for suppliers’ compliance with Sandvik policies and guidelines
  • Conduct thorough parts investigation including effective root cause analysis, effective corrective and preventive actions whenever needed
  • Manage and conduct supplier audits on capability and quality systems/tools
  • Implement and analyze Supplier Quality Index / KPIs within country / region
  • Develop production parts approval-files and drive validation of prototype parts
  • Secure implementation of processes, systems, and tools
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders to ensure information, knowledge sharing, best practices, continuous improvement and strategy implementation
  • Continuously update and manage sourcing information in database, Teamcenter, etc
  • Familiar with LMW processes & customs clearance will be added value
  • Adhere to quality requirement and safety guidelines
  • Ensure Sandvik Way of Working procedures are in place and always adhered
  • Familiar with implementation SAP module S/4 Hana, ARIBA system
  • Battery technology background considered an advantage

Your background and what we find important

This role would be ideal for someone looking to further develop & stay motivated for new challenges to enhance supplier quality engineer, sourcing development, continuous improvement expert, or any related. As a person you have excellent communication, strategic, resourceful and deliver as required, fluent English speaking with a minimum 5 years’ experience in heavy machineries assembly / manufacturing environment or equivalent, familiar with LMW setup, SAP S/4 Hana & Ariba system utilization, expert of regional supply base, etc.
