Segment Manager - Aerospace

Job Summary: The Segment Manager will lead the commercial strategy, financial performance, and growth of a designated GWS market for Aerospace and Space Structures. This role serves as a key business partner to the operational and account leadership teams, ensuring that all commercial initiatives align with organizational goals, meet client expectations, and achieve profitability targets.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop go-to-market sales and selling strategies, including direct sales, channel partnerships, promotions, and marketing literature.
Build relationships with decision-makers among key customers and influential market leaders to understand market trends and customer needs.
Identify growth opportunities, market trends, and competitive advantages to expand market share.
Support go-to-market planning, pricing strategies, and client value propositions.
Oversee commercial performance, including revenue forecasting, margin management, and cost control.
Review financial reports and KPIs to ensure profitability and compliance with commercial objectives.
Support the GWS Application Specialist in identifying new customers, engaging in on-site visits, and providing technical support.
Collaborate with the Engineering team to advise on new product development opportunities and market requirements.
Collaborate with account management, operations, and business development teams to ensure service excellence.
Present commercial insights and performance updates to senior leadership and stakeholders.
Ensure commercial activities comply with internal policies and contractual obligations.
Manage risk exposure through robust commercial controls and governance processes.
Support bid approvals, financial modeling, and investment business cases.
Mentor and guide team members on commercial best practices and product portfolios.
Foster collaboration across cross-functional teams to align strategy and execution.
Qualifications & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field (MBA preferred).
Over 7 years of experience in commercial or business management, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
Strong financial acumen and analytical skills.
Proven experience leading commercial strategy in a matrixed, client-focused organization.
Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
Physical Requirements:
Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to travel 50%
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
Must be able to travel.
