Senior Test Engineer

At Sandvik Mining, we deliver pioneering products and solutions to our global customers within the mining and construction segment. Part of our exciting business is the Surface Drilling Division, where our intelligent surface drill rigs bring the latest technology to surface mining and construction applications – we’d like to call it true power with absolute precision!

We are now strengthening and developing our R&D Testing team and therefore looking for a proactive and development-oriented Senior Test Engineer for a full-time and permanent position in Myllypuro/Tampere, Finland. Sounds like your next job? If yes, keep on reading.

Your role

As a Senior Test Engineer in Surface Drilling R&D organization, your main role is to carry out different surface drill rig related tests and report findings to the R&D. Testing includes system functionality, performance and durability testing and report analyzation and documentation. You will take part in test preparations, which include some electrical and mechanical installation work. You will take part in developing the R&D team’s work methods and improving our operations. There is also some traveling to customer sites during new product development customer validation phase.

Your background and what we find important

You have a relevant technical education and already years’ work experience in test engineering. You are familiar with mechanical and electrical installations and have basic knowledge of software systems. From a functional level you have knowledge of surface drill rigs or similar machinery. Your previous drill rig operation and drilling experience are regarded as a big plus. Your way of working is self-driven, and you have good communication and collaboration skills. You can work proactively and systematically in a fast-changing business environment. Working with the products in the testing environment requires good physical fitness. You are willing to travel if needed and you are fluent in Finnish and English.
