Master thesis: Develop the e-commerce platform

Sandvik Coromant in Sandviken, Sweden offers a thesis project in the area of developing the platform for e-commerce.
Background and scope of the project
Sandvik Coromant, a division within the Sandvik Group, is a world-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for industrial metal cutting. Every day, thousands of customer orders flow through the division's e-commerce platform.
The platform for e-commerce is under constant development. New functionality and features are added to the technical solution and user experience improvements are made continuously. At the moment we focus on artificial intelligence and IoT (Internet of Things) and how this can be used to enhance the user experience, which in turn will contribute to increased sales. The goal of this Master thesis is to improve the user experience with the help of new technology.
This thesis project will focus on how Sandvik can use new techniques and frameworks to develop the e-commerce platform.
The project will include:
- Real-world analysis
- Technical analysis
- Creating a prototype
- Report and presentation
Depending on your competence profile, the project will be tailored to make as good match as possible.
We are looking for a Master's student with a relevant background, preferably in system development or data science.

The work consists of 30 credits (weeks) and is planned to start during the first quarter of 2021.
The location for this position is Sandviken, Sweden. Part of the project can be done remotely.
