Background and scope of the project

Geometric parameters of the cutting insert mounted in the tool have a strong influence on the cutting process. Adjusting the position of the cutting edge in relation to the workpiece provides better control of the machining process and properties of the machined component.

Work description

The aim of this Master’s thesis is to gain increased knowledge about how the position of cutting edge can be adjusted in the tool and what mechanisms can be used for that. To achieve this, you will combine theoretical studies with practical research and lab experiments.
