About the opportunity:

This is an exciting opportunity to join UFR as a Supply Chain Engineer, where you will oversee end-to-end supply chain management across our Brisbane production facility and global network. Reporting to the senior leadership team, you will play a key role in driving efficiency, minimising stock discrepancies, and supporting engineering teams to enhance project delivery and profitability.

In this role, you will manage component identification and purchasing, coordinate global deliveries, and ensure compliance with trade regulations and corporate policies. You will also lead inventory management initiatives, implement robust systems and processes, and leverage ERP platforms such as SAP MDG and Aurora to optimise operations.

Beyond day-to-day responsibilities, you will contribute to continuous improvement projects, foster collaboration across teams, and help shape innovative supply chain strategies that support UFR’s growth and success.

Responsibilities:

  • System Planning and Execution: Develop comprehensive systems to ensure components are available as and when required while maintaining appropriate cost and capital investment levels
  • Leadership: Work with project teams to foster a collaborative and productive work environment. Provide clear direction, support, and guidance to team members.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal and external stakeholders, to ensure project alignment with business objectives and customer needs. Facilitate effective communication and collaboration across functions and divisions.
  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to enhance parts and logistics processes and practices within the organisation. Implement best practices and continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive measures are in place to address potential issues. Develop contingency plans to manage unforeseen challenges.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Maintain accurate project documentation, including progress reports, status updates, and project deliverables. Ensure timely and transparent communication of project status to stakeholders.

About you

You are an experienced supply chain professional with a strong understanding of end-to-end supply chain management and a solid grasp of engineering principles. You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution to deliver efficiency and accuracy across global operations. Your ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage complex dependencies, and maintain clear communication ensures seamless collaboration and stakeholder satisfaction.

You bring proven experience in component sourcing, purchasing, inventory control, and global logistics, with a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvement. Familiarity with ERP systems such as SAP MDG and Aurora, combined with knowledge of trade compliance and export regulations, enables you to navigate complex processes with confidence. A background in electronics or mechanical engineering and experience in the mining industry will be highly regarded.

Adaptable, detail-oriented, and committed to excellence, you are ready to drive innovation, optimise processes, and contribute to the success of a global organisation.
