Field Service Technician – Mackay | Queensland
About the opportunity
Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated local Field Service Technicians (Blast hole Rotary Drill fitter). The role is responsible to ensure efficient maintenance of our client’s fleet of Sandvik Mining equipment, working on-site and in the workshop. As a Field Service Technician, you will be performing inspection, preventative maintenance, and repairs of a range of specialist mining equipment. Including but not limited to;
- Surface Drills (Boom and Rotary)
- Hydraulic repair and troubleshooting
- Electrical repair and troubleshooting
- OEM training and support
Flexible Rosters: Options of a 5 days on | 2 days off or 7 days on | 7 days off schedule, with discussions upon application.
What are your responsibilities?
- Tackle diverse mechanical tasks: Perform maintenance, repairs, and fault diagnosis on all Sandvik Mining equipment.
- Maintain equipment integrity: Follow maintenance plans to ensure safe and efficient operation.
- Diagnose and repair: Identify issues and repair mining equipment to keep everything running smoothly.
- Improve maintenance planning: Provide valuable feedback to enhance our maintenance strategies.
- Keep detailed records: Track parts usage, monitor equipment, and maintain time logs.
- Work collaboratively or independently: Thrive in both team settings and when working autonomously.
- Commit to safety: Adhere to all company policies, with a strong focus on EHS standards.
About you
Bring your mechanical trade qualifications and experience with surface drills to a team that values your expertise. If you've worked with Sandvik equipment before, that's a plus! Your strong customer service and communication skills, combined with a positive attitude and determination to meet customer satisfaction targets, will make you a key player. Flexibility to adapt to customer requirements, procedures, and safety policies is essential. Above all, your unwavering commitment to EHS ensures safety is always your top priority.

Basic computer literacy and a Class C Manual Driver’s License are required. Additionally, you must be able to pass site requirements which may include police checks and site specific medicals.
