About the Role

The Technical Sales Representative – NSW (Coal) plays a key role in supporting and growing customer relationships across the New South Wales coal mining sector. This role is primarily focused on customer account management, delivering solutions that add value to our customers' operations and drive the growth of Sandvik’s ground support business.
Reporting to the NSW Sales Manager from our head office in Heatherbrae, this role offers flexibility, including remote work options, for the right NSW-based candidate. It is a field-based position with regular travel to mine sites in the NSW coal region, including underground operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow existing customer accounts in the NSW coal sector, with a strong focus on building long-term partnerships.
  • Provide technical sales support and product recommendations related to underground strata reinforcement and support systems.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to understand operational challenges and propose tailored solutions using our product range.
  • Implement regional and customer-specific sales strategies to achieve business targets.
  • Monitor and report on product performance, ensuring ongoing customer satisfaction and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for product development or innovation in response to customer needs.
  • Support the Regional Sales Manager in preparing and executing regional sales and cost budgets.
  • Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, including site visit reports and key action items.
  • Regular domestic travel within the allocated territory and work underground as necessary to fulfil role requirements.
  • Perform regular underground audits and testing to guarantee customer satisfaction and discover opportunities for product and service improvements.

About You

You have significant underground mining experience, ideally within the coal sector. A solid understanding of ground support materials and installation practices is highly desirable. You possess a strong customer focus and have demonstrated experience in key account management, preferably within the mining or industrial sectors.
You are a self-motivated professional with a proven ability to develop customer relationships, identify opportunities for growth, and influence technical decision-making. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a broader team and are capable of meeting the physical and compliance requirements of mine site access, including medicals and site inductions.
A trade or tertiary qualification in a mining or engineering-related discipline will be well regarded.
