Job Purpose: The Procurement Manager is responsible for developing a strategic approach to our companies procurement and supplier management processes for the purchase of direct and indirect goods and services. In this role, a successful candidate will maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers, negotiate contracts for more complex purchase orders, direct and evaluate the data collection and analysis on purchasing trends of current spend profile; lead the identification, selection, development and management of current and potential suppliers while minimizing purchasing costs while maintaining supplier quality. Supervises a group of purchasing staff ensuring the RFQ/RFP process to deliver optimal total cost on all production material demands; and deliver material costs savings within the major material categories contributing to COGS. The individual will support the development and implementation of policies, procedures and systems that support the company’s acquisition of goods and services. This position will require the Procurement Manager to work closely with various entities of the company including, Parts and Service Team, Production Planner/Coordinator and VP of Operations. Education Level: Bachelor's Degree Preferred Job Experience: 5 or more years leadership experience 5 or more years experience in Procurement, Manufacturing or other related field Results-oriented, metrics-driven individual with expertise in purchasing, supplier collaboration, development and compliance Experience with domestic and international sourcing and procurement Skills/Special Training Required to Effectively Perform the Job: Demonstrated experience in negotiating prices and terms and conditions Experience with purchase orders of low to medium complexity and processing high volume Purchase orders across various business units Knowledge of market research, data analysis and purchasing best practices A strong analytical mindset Skilled in negotiating tactics, effective in utilizing analysis and creative solutions to extract the greatest value for the company Outstanding organizational and follow-up skills Proficient with MS Office Responsibilities: Develop and communicate a product category procurement plan; establish, communicate and implement short- and long- term plans to ensure effective supply chain performance Create and maintain strong supplier relationships. Act as the primary point of contact for contract compliance, price negotiation and supplier performance reviews Develop detailed specifications and bid documents Identify and qualify new suppliers Supervise assigned staff in the execution of procurement activities supporting multiple projects Develop and implement regular RFQ/RFP processes for new and existing product groups to attain lowest cost and optimal quality/service performance. Conduct business review meetings to assess risks, review future strategies and identify future cost down opportunities Participate in the development of procurement project plans, proposals, reports, and task order and administrative reporting Identify opportunities to reduce costs and to improve fixture and equipment quality Coordinates development of deliverables and products supporting the procurement of material and services Maintain current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned Ensure quality assurance of project deliverables Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
