JOB PURPOSE The Module Assembly Lead role is to ensure the safe and timely production of scheduled orders by effectively utilizing personnel, equipment and material. This includes making job assignments and setting up work for employees in the department. The ideal candidate will possess the desire and ability to provide leadership in all aspects of production including advanced troubleshooting, decision-making and problem-solving skills. The Module Assembly Lead will liaise with the Manufacturing Manager and Battery Department Supervisor to establish priorities, schedule workflow, and delegate work to meet on-time delivery commitments. Education Level: Trade School or on the job experience. Certificate in Electro-mechanical Technology preferred. Associate degree in electronics, mechanical or related fields are a plus. Job Experience: Experience in a fast-paced assembly environment. Strong hands-on experience in manufacturing principles and good organizational understanding. Exposure to HV and LV systems, routing, terminating, and diagnosing. Electrical Systems exposure and understanding relating to functions and diagnostics. Prototype / first article assembly experience and procedural input. Hands on working with design and manufacturing engineers to improve design. Practical application and understanding of proper rigging and lifting techniques / practices. Responsibilities: Provide supervisory responsibilities for assigned production shift and associated personnel including: training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work load. Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, manufacturing document specifications, and B.O.M.; gathering necessary tools and materials. Effectively motivate, train and communicate to assure superior levels of safety, reliability, and quality. Ensure individual and team levels of performance meet or exceed goals and expectations. Develop an expert knowledge of the production process and all associated equipment. Be able to analytically and systematically troubleshoot manufacturing issues and develop the team to be self-directed in the same activities Documents actions stamping off on completed sequences and operations, utilize production application to assign and follow up on technician tasks. Analyze, express, and implement departmental changes needed for safety and efficiency. Evaluates processes for ways to improve quality, tooling usage, and run workload times. Mentors new employees and provides guidance to members, through instruction and personal example. Demonstrate eagerness, enthusiasm, and optimism for work activities. This includes the ability and willingness to take ownership for work activities, to learn and understand company policies and procedures, to take independent action and complete job tasks without being instructed to complete them. Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes and quality defects. Maintain expected progress of jobs in the assembly area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages. Utilize various types of material handling equipment including carts, pallet jacks, forklift trucks, big joe lifts, bridge cranes where required and needed. Working from oral, written, or electronically generated instructions perform skilled preventive maintenance, operations, adjustments, corrections, repairs, diagnosis or modifications to a variety of electronic/electro-mechanical equipment and components Create and utilize documentation procedures, manuals, drawings and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and components. Ensure daily departmental tooling checklist is getting completed properly. Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance schedules are adhered to and enforced. Exhibit teamwork in all you do, maintaining a positive and team-based attitude. Support peers in time of high demand by working hours assigned and overtime as required; also comply with scheduled start/stop times and break periods for the facility. Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures. Requires the ability to lift, pull, push and guide medium weight objects frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be fluent in reading and speaking English to properly interpret schematics and all documentation.
