Job Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled ABAP Developer with expertise in SAP Master Data Governance (MDG) for both frontend and backend development. In addition to technical responsibilities, this role will also function as the Onsite Team Leader, coordinating activities, managing team deliverables, and ensuring alignment with project goals. The successful candidate will work closely with the MDG Solution Architect and report to the Information Manager while collaborating with SAP Architects to gather requirements and implement high-quality solutions. The role requires adherence to standard coding and documentation practices within SAP environments.

Location: Pune, India

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, enhance, and support SAP MDG solutions using ABAP.
• Work on both frontend (UI, FPM, Web Dynpro) and backend (MDG framework, workflows, BRF+, data modelling, validations, and derivations).
• Collaborate with the MDG Solution Architect to implement best practices for master data management.
• Gather and analyse business requirements in coordination with SAP Architects.
• Ensure compliance with standard SAP development methodologies, coding standards, and documentation requirements.
• Develop and optimize MDG workflows, data models, and enhancements.
• Support data replication and integration with SAP and non-SAP systems.
• Perform unit testing, troubleshooting, and debugging of ABAP developments.
• Provide technical support and guidance to the functional team and end-users.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation for all developments and configurations.
• Follow Agile/Waterfall methodologies as required by project scope.
• Act as the main point of contact for onsite project execution, escalating issues as needed to the Information Manager.

• Qualifications:

• SAP MDG Certification is a plus.
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) is advantageous.
• Experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) is a plus.

• Required Experience:

• 10+ years of experience in SAP ABAP development, with a focus on MDG (Master Data Governance).
• Strong knowledge of ABAP Object-Oriented Programming (OO-ABAP).
• Hands-on experience with MDG Framework, FPM (Floor Plan Manager), Web Dynpro, BRF+, and SAP Workflow.
• Experience in MDG Data Modelling, Business Rules, and Process Modelling.
• Knowledge of SAP ALE, IDocs, and Web Services for data replication.
• Experience in CDS, OData/Gateway, UI5/Fiori & RAP development is a plus.
• Ability to interpret and implement functional requirements into technical solutions.
• Experience working with SAP Solution Manager for documentation and transport management.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to adhere to coding best practices and documentation standards.
• Proven experience in leading onsite development teams or playing a lead developer role.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
