Automation Platform Developer

Are you passionate about programming and curious about how your code can make a real-world impact?

In this role, you play an important part in empowering engineers across the globe to design and manufacture products smarter, as you shape the automation platform behind it.

Be part of something bigger – join us on an exciting journey of transformation

At Sandvik Coromant, we don’t just lead the manufacturing industry – we’re reshaping it. As a global frontrunner in advanced manufacturing, we're on a journey to transform how we work and how we create value.

The industry’s evolving fast, and we’re responding with smart, end-to-end solutions powered by bold ideas and passionate people. This is your chance to join a high-trust, empowered team that challenges the status quo and puts customers at the center of everything we do. Let’s shape the future of manufacturing together!

Your mission

Step into a role where software meets real-world engineering challenges. You’ll join a collaborative and inclusive agile team that connects engineering with software development. We’re a global group with a strong local presence in Sandviken, working on the YAPP platform – a custom-built programming platform that enables engineers across our Machining business areas to automate design, modeling, and production (CAD, CAM, CMM).

The automation platform allows an end customer to specify a variant of a product to a unique size and configuration that has never been produced before. The platform can also automatically give the end-user a delivery date after checking for a suitable production site and capacity. When the customer completes the purchase, one of our multiple global production units could start producing this never-before-produced product without any manual intervention.

It’s not just about writing code – it’s about understanding how engineers think and helping them work smarter. Curiosity and a love of learning are key – this is a unique solution, and we’ll support your growth every step of the way.

What you’ll do:

  • Develop and maintain a Java-based programming platform, supporting product design & production
  • Collaborate with engineers to understand and solve real-world challenges
  • Work in an agile, cross-functional team with global reach

Location

The location for this position is preferably Sandviken in Sweden. Pune, India or Mebane, the US are however also options. We understand the importance of work-life balance and offer flexible work arrangements, including remote work a couple of days a week.
