Meet Sara McManus, Team Hasselborg

Sara McManus used to be a Sandvik employee hunting for talented summer workers. Now she wears the Sandvik colors on her hunt for gold medals on the ice.

She´s not an employee of Sandvik anymore, but she stills wears the Sandvik brand on her clothes when going to work.

Sara McManus is one of the four members of Team Hasselborg - a curling team that is both Olympic and European champions and that is in a partnership with Sandvik since 2018. A partnership that supports that team´s ambition to stay on top by putting full focus on the sport they live for.

“It means everything to us. We are so proud to be able to do this full time and as a former employee it´s huge for me personally,” Sara says about the partnership with Sandvik when she visits the podcast Meet Sandvik.

She remembers how she thought it would be hard to fit in at a large company like Sandvik when she was hired. She found out it was not a problem.

“It was completely the opposite. My colleagues were so good at including everybody, I felt like a Sandvik employee right from the beginning,” says Sara.

In the podcast she also explains the vastly different roles in a curling team and gives her view on how a good leader should act.
