Background and scope of the project
Turning with a small entering angle is a very efficient way of machining rotationally symmetric components. The innovative PrimeTurning™ method with CoroTurn® Prime tools utilize this advantage to deliver a 50% increase in productivity or higher compared to conventional turning solutions. This Master thesis will support further development of this solution.
The aim of this Master thesis is to gain increased knowledge about how small entering angle affects chip control in turning. To achieve this, you will combine theoretical studies with practical research and lab experiments.
We are looking for someone studying Mechanical Engineering or Materials Science. You have a genuine interest in engineering and research & development. Experience of metal cutting is an advantage.
