Supply Chain Planning Specialist - Elko/Hybrid

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

JOB PURPOSE

  • Responsible for proactively establishing and deployment part plans to support Sandvik installed base availability targets
  • To support Parts and Services Sales Representatives (PSSRs) to drive the forecasting process in collaboration with direct customers
  • Accountable for defining and securing inventory levels to support unpredicted failures according to fleet size
  • To support parts planning for the introduction of new customers, parts portfolio solutions in the market, as new machine models
  • To support meeting targets on revenue growth, OTD, warehouse stock turns, and Networking Capital targets for Parts and Services

Main Responsibilities

DIRECT CUSTOMERS PARTS SUPPORT

  • Support the PSSR in accomplishing parts forecasting through analyzing the customer maintenance plans to meet customer expectations on time parts availability
  • Secure through proper communication to internal stakeholders that all Sandvik inventory policies are met before any commitments are agreed upon with Customers
  • Ability to identify inventory policy deviations to meet Customer needs and manage by following proper escalations procedures
  • Deploy parts inventory commitments with Customers by securing agreed service levels (i.e., OTD)
  • Be the consolidation point for parts forecast (maintenance kits, major components, etc.) at the customer level by making PSSRs or Service Team accountable as owners of the information
  • Collaborate with the PSSRs on engaging in Customers Operations or Maintenance activities to capture forecast improvement opportunities to improve parts and equipment availability
  • Identify, communicate, and proactively manage potential parts availability gaps or risk
  • Provide customized weekly/monthly/quarterly progress reports to internal stakeholders for customers under the responsibility

DEALERS AD-HOC SUPPORT

  • To organize/participate quarterly in a service level review meeting with internal Dealer’s stakeholders
  • Quarterly handshake with internal Dealer’s stakeholders on specific projects or needs to deploy in the coming quarter
  • Execution and continuously communication of projects agreed upon by quarter

DEMAND AND INVENTORY PLANNING BY PRODUCT

  • Define inventory levels to support unpredicted machine failures based on fleet size and aging
  • Continues service level improvement initiatives in collaboration with Logistics and Product Portfolio for product lines under assigned responsibility (i.e., Rock Drills, Engines, etc.)
  • Be the consolidation point for the forecast of product lines assigned and support the Product Portfolio with inputs and recommendations
  • Responsible for supporting Product Portfolio specific initiatives as per request (i.e., the launch of a new product, out phase of products)
  • Support with a parts plan for introduction of new equipment in the market

RECOMMENDED SPARE PARTS LIST AND POC MODELS CUSTODIAN

  • Responsible for keeping a generic POC for each model of the Division under responsibility for tender purposes only
  • Responsible for keeping Recommended Spare Parts Lists (RSPL) for all serial numbers of the Division assigned
  • Responsible for validating all RSPL and POC with Product Masters

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

  • Support with training regarding supply planning strategies and tools to measure service levels that are available in Sandvik
  • Ensure inventory strategy, plans, targets, and actual KPIs are communicated across Divisions
  • Run supply chain training/coaching courses for colleagues if required

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • Prepare and execute all activities per EHS and Quality regulations, procedures, instructions, and guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing unsafe activities to others.
  • Follow the necessary Take 5 and risk assessment procedures.

PREFERRED ENVIRONMENT & MOBILITY

  • Elko NV/Hybrid
  • Willing to travel within the Sales Area.
  • Requirement to be in the office 2-3 times a week.

Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience
  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a similar aftermarket environment
  • Exposure to the supply of parts and consumables in the mining and construction industry (desired)

COMPETENCES REQUIRED

  • Good data analysis, reporting, and communication skills
  • Computer literacy is essential, with exposure to ERP systems, MS Office (Power BI knowledge advantageous)
  • Drive, determination, and flexibility to achieve targets and goals
  • Superior customer relations skills
  • Highly developed time management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Willingness and ability to travel from time to time
