Field Service Technician

Sandvik is seeking applications from motivated individuals for Field Service Technician (Third Party Contract based) stationed in Kalimantan area (all sites).

The role is getting customer satisfaction by participating in installing, repairing, inspecting and commissioning service, considering economical and other aspects. Responsible for standard maintenance, faultfinding, taking customer and Sandvik framework and requirements into account.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR

  • To participate as assistant in below tasks: Install, repair, inspect and commission products and equipment of different kind at customer site or own premises.

  • Report and document results after above actions. Support the customer’s product/equipment/processes by suggesting possible improvements. Plan, conduct and maintain tools and equipment for service work.

  • Identify components, understand basic functionality, and conduct maintenance and repair work accordingly. This includes the provision of preventive and cost-efficient repairs.

  • Understand system functionality and interactions of hydraulics / mechanics / electrics / automation / pneumatics/ materials.

  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) to identify and solve common problems, solve standard problems, and is guided by more senior technicians for more complex tasks.

  • Ensure work area is kept clean and tidy, and that tools and equipment are stored appropriately.

PLANNING AND REPORTING

  • Plan to have the correct tools and parts needed to perform tasks according to work procedures. (e.g. collect service kits to perform service on machine, book special tools required etc.).

CUSTOMER VALUE ADD

  • Uses knowledge and experience to solve standard problems for customers.

  • Coach customer technicians on basic servicing and maintenance principles.

COLLABORATION WITH PARTS & SERVICES AND EQUIPMENT DIVISIONS

  • Collaborate within the Sales Area (including territories/countries etc.) with supervisor, senior technicians, and peers.

  • Participate in local equipment division training and comply with the requirements of a Sandvik Maintenance Technician.

  • Awareness of new product launches.

  • Understand how business or related KPIs impact in their operational efficiency.

  • Ensure that routine work procedures (using the tools provided), are carried out according to safety standards.

  • Identify and report any unsafe work behaviors/practices, hazards and incidents immediately.

EXPERIENCE

  • 0-3 Years experience in heavy equipment preferably knowing Sandvik Equipment.

  • Basic to proficient Root Cause Analysis.

EDUCATION, LICENCES & CERTIFICATES

  • High school diploma or technical training or technical college.

  • Certified Basic Mechanical Course.

  • Minimum basic conversation in English Competencies:

  • Basic Equipment knowledge and skills in at least one equipment type (automation a pre-requisite): Load & Haul, Drilling and Rigging, Rock Drill Technologies, Automation and/or Rock Drills.

  • iSERIES – Basic knowledge and skills in the following: Decentralized Automation - Bus Technology; Control Systems; Mechanics; Hydraulics; Pneumatics; Electrics.
