Systems Engineer

Our Underground Drilling Division’s R&D organization is currently looking for Systems Engineer. The role is full-time, permanent and located in Tampere (Myllypuro), Finland.

The Underground Drilling division within Business area Mining is an industry leading global provider of drilling equipment for underground mining and tunneling industry with focus on technology development and future innovative solutions to enable sustainable operations for our customers. Sandvik Mining and Construction Oy’s Tampere site is a global technology and manufacturing center for Underground Drilling equipment.

Your role

As Systems Engineer you will be part of team developing advanced control systems in mining machinery. You will collaborate with engineering, design, and multiple stakeholders to shape features, ensure regulatory compliance, and deliver intuitive, high-performance solutions. In addition, you will lead roadmap planning, testing, and continuous improvement to meet industry needs and strategic objectives.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related field.

  • Proven experience as a Product Owner, preferably in the field of control systems for industrial machinery.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Fluent English language skills and excellent communication skills to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.

  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and experience in managing Agile development teams.

  • Ability to balance technical constraints, business priorities, and user needs in the product development process.

  • Understanding safety and regulatory compliance in the context of industrial control systems.

  • Previous knowledge in mining industry processes and requirements will be considered an advantage.
