Parts & Services Logistics – Our Function and Culture

Logistics is an essential support arm for multiple divisions within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions and manages 30 Warehouses (6 Hubs + 24 Satellites) in 17 distinct countries and 5 continents. Key to our central activity and role is providing proactive, worldwide, logistical expertise and timely delivery of essential after sales parts to our customers across the globe.

Based on the variety of functions performed in Parts & Services Logistics, there are numerous opportunities for career advancement in areas including; Warehousing, Order Management, Inventory Management, Freight, Supplier Management, Logistics Transformation and Supply Chain Information Systems. These key functions support the activities which collectively are providing and delivering the right product to the right customer at the right time.

We are now recruiting for a Logistics Development Manager (P4) for a permanent position in our Dublin office.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this role is to study, initiate and drive improvements in supply chain network and logistics. Logistics Development Manager identifies opportunities for change to improve customer satisfaction and to reduce logistics costs. Logistics Development Manager builds business cases for network design change & logistics investments and facilitates their critical review and approval. Additionally, Logistics Development Manager tracks the business cases for benefits realization.

Main Responsibilities

Logistics Development & Network Design

  • Produce high quality business cases for logistics network design changes and investments.
  • Facilitate business case approval
  • Support and coach project managers in implementation projects
  • Track and ensure benefit realization

Logistics Analysis

  • Lead logistics analysis
  • Drive improvements in use of data in logistics studies (i.e. installed fleet)

Networking and Benchmarking

  • Continuously bench mark processes to industry best in class network designs

Liaise with global logistics organization to identify best practises and development opportunities.

Your Profile

It is essential that the successful candidate will have a degree level or equivalent, ideally in a business or supply chain discipline. You must have 7-10 years’ experience in a related supply chain role environment, preferably in heavy machinery industry. You speak fluent English and have the ability to travel globally if required.
