Import & Export / Logistics Coordinator (SECO TOOLS DE MEXICO)

Who we are and what we do:

Seco Tools is a people company in the machining business. For over 80 years, we have been more than just a cutting tool provider.


Coordinates the efficient and economical movement of goods (e.g., materials, products, equipment) across international borders in accordance with the Company policies and in compliance with relevant local, country and international customs laws and processes.

Main responsibilities

Prepares, reviews, approves and maintains files for import/export documents, packing list, commercial invoice, SLI (shipper's letter of instruction), SED (shipper's export declaration), BOL (bill of lading, AWD (air waybill), IC (import certificate), etc) required for the lawful completion of import/export activities.

Ensures that commercial and sales invoices are accurate in accordance with physical shipment and customer's SLI, quantities, value of goods, country of origin and other regulatory requirements.

Serves as an import/professional liaison for international customers/subsidiaries, distribution, procurement, planning, manufacturing, intercompany finance, regulatory and import/export compliance functions

Goods Certification Process with the different certifying parties (ANCE, NYCE, DGN)

Specific follow up to import operations related with NOM's or any other customs regulations.

Returns of goods detained at the border with import issues to Mexico

Apply the legal framework of Mexican foreign trade related with fiscal, tariff, customs and administrative matters to all our import / export operations

Follow-up of Internal Audits and Trade Compliance processes

Deal with Customs Brokers, Logistics Service Companies and Certifying Bodies.


  • Language: Fluent English and Spanish (bilingual).
  • University degree.
  • 3 years of experience in the area, including Customs Legislation.
  • Knowledge of HTSC classification, Foreing Trade Operations, different transportation modes such air, sea and ground.
  • Experience in compliance with Mexican Standars Regulations.
