Bill of Materials Specialist
JOB PURPOSE
The Bill of Materials Specialist is responsible for configuring and maintaining bills of materials (BOMs) for product designs. They work closely with engineering, production, planning, and procurement teams to ensure accuracy and completeness of BOMs and to support the production process.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain management, or related field, and/or 3-5 years of experience in BOM management in a manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Key Responsibilities:
Configure and maintain BOMs for electric vehicles per the latest customer specification
Monitor and communicate BOM changes to all relevant stakeholders
Process Engineering Change Releases (ECRs) with cost, lead time, and impact in mind
Collaborate with sourcing team on transitioning newly outsourced parts
Work with cost accounting on any BOM related product cost variances
Support production, planning, and purchasing teams with BOM-related inquiries/issues
Track and compare estimated vs actual manufacturing takt times
Perform internal controls function for production planning team
Work closely with production and manufacturing engineering to restructure BOMs and improve routing
Provide additional support and conduct special projects as determined by Management
Salary:
$74,272.00 - $111,408.00
