As a Sourcing Development Associate, you will be part of several sourcing categories and supporting its overall activities. The position is a hands-on role delivering value through analytical and commercial expertise in strategic sourcing. Overall, you will be part of an exciting journey in developing supplier’s performance, new technologies and sustainable solutions together with our suppliers.

Education Level:

Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management, Bachelor's degree with suitable equivalent experience also considered

Job Experience:

  • 3-5 years experience in the strategic sourcing / procurement environment
  • Prior work experience in Manufacturing environment
  • Supply Chain, Capital & Construction, Logistics & Distribution, Raw Materials Product development, Regulatory Contracting experience a plus
  • Skills/Special Training Required to Effectively Perform the Job:
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced dynamic environment is required
  • Strong analytical and communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Strong Contract management skills
  • Proficiency in, Microsoft Word and PowerPoint and Excel (advanced)
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects/tasks effectively
  • Ability to make decisions in an ambiguous situations/apply critical thinking skills with limited information
  • Strong understanding of factory performance management
  • Detail oriented with strong follow-through, ability to organize and prioritize multiple projects
  • Have sense of urgency in managing time and accomplishing tasks, self-motivated with outstanding initiative and proven success with meeting deadlines
  • Ability to influence and manage multiple stakeholders with different ways of working, business needs and demands


  • Execute Sandvik sourcing processes to drive sourcing projects
  • Establishing and managing a relationship with selected suppliers including negotiations and contracting of commercial terms
  • Supporting Categories in Sourcing strategy development and implementation
  • Research, analyze and evaluate prospective suppliers, making sure to identify their core competencies and capabilities and gather all needed information to determine if they meet our qualifications
  • Monitor current and alternative sourcing markets and develop sourcing strategies based on market intelligence gathered
  • Develop negotiation strategies that meet business objectives and achieve sustainable relationships with supplier, which includes periodic rebidding to ensure our costs remain competitive
  • Work with the appropriate people to research duty and freight rates and make sure they are properly accounted for in the landed cost
  • Negotiate and manage key terms with factories which include cost, minimums, lead times, payment terms and other related terms
  • Work collaboratively with factories and coworkers to identify and execute continuous cost and performance improvement strategies
  • Work with the Quality Assurance team to monitor quality, and as issues arise, investigate the root cause and provide for proper and timely resolution

Job Requirements:

  • Project management skills
  • Spend analysis in selected categories
  • Competency in working ERP systems with strong knowledge of MRP and other Materials Management techniques. Experience in Epicor is highly valued
