The Unit

The Global Sourcing department within the Division for Rock Tools manages and coordinates all sourcing activities world-wide, such as category strategies and its execution both on global and regional level.
We promote and drive overall purchasing performance to support the lowest possible landed product costing. We also lead transformative change efforts for sustainability where we are all committed to reduce both CO2 emissions and increase our circularity for our Rock Tools suppliers, products and assortment globally.

Your mission

In this position, you manage and coordinate all upstream sourcing activities, analyze and monitor the market development within your responsibility. You develop and align both local and global sourcing strategies together with your global and local colleagues & stakeholders. You manage identified risk and lead transformative change efforts challenging the status quo, lead improvement works enabling the best possible landed product costing required to be recognized as the industry leader for Rock Tools with a more sustainable approach.

You lead our improvement initiatives and supports the important production units in Sweden with a true “go to Gemba approach”. You manage and coordinate all sourcing activities together with the local procurement team and increase pre-requisites for the downstream purchasing performance. Leading and participating in Supplier Relationship Management activities are parts of your mission and to raise awareness for sustainability improvements within our supply chain and selected suppliers. You’re also accountable for creating, negotiating, implementing and signing contracts for our selected supplier base with balanced prices and networking capital. In collaboration with your global colleagues, you ensure best-in-class sourcing and reach performance targets set by the Rock Tools Division Sourcing needs, leveraging total cost of ownership levers, enhancing the overall effectiveness of the organization through cooperating will all key stakeholders such as Product Management, R&D and the Production unit localized in Sandviken.

Your character
You're curious, driven and forward-thinking, with the ability to challenge and drive progress with others. Preferably, you have previous experience from production and industries requiring Steel Raw material and potentially in any of the following categories mentioned: Subcontracting & qualifying and managing external vendors for flexible capacity. Knowledge of Machined components, Mechanical components, Seals and other assembly material needed from a global supplier base. Being passionate about production, sustainability and to identify & lead improvement projects with both external suppliers and internal stakeholders are important to be able to succeed in this role with a passion to support the Sustainability work Sandvik has committed to.
You have several years of experience within strategic sourcing and direct purchasing and know how to engage people to make things happen. With experience from working in a global matrix organization and managing cross-functional teams and complex products, flows and services with a passion to lead the important Sustainability work we have now committed to. Your background also includes evaluation of suppliers, leading negotiations, securing contracts and delivering results with a strong track record. As we work in an international setting, beside fluent skills in Swedish, you also communicate effortlessly in English, both verbally and in writing.
