Strategic Relations Manager - North Asia (job with flexible location within Sales Area [SANA])

About the job

You are responsible for managing our company’s overall relationship and contractual terms and conditions with selected strategic customers or external business partners related to sales: these include end customers, machine tool manufacturers, channel partners and business partners in the digital arena. Among the responsibilities are to develop, anchor and lead the execution of business plans for each of the selected customers and partners at the respective Sales area. The responsibility covers all geographical markets of the Sales area, and activities are managed in close collaboration with sales areas and other functions of our company.

1) Your mission is to successfully manage global commercial conditions and regional business activities with Global Accounts, Local Key Accounts and MTS residing within your area, to meet business targets for both customers and Sandvik Coromant. You secure the implementation of agreed terms and conditions with Strategic and Global Accounts in the local markets within the Sales Area.

2) You contribute to achieving agreed targets with assigned strategic customers, follow up on business results and initiate remedial actions when there are deviations.

3) Furthermore, you facilitate the service and collaboration with all Strategic Accounts within the Sales Area, and support the continuous development by being an active member of the management team in the Sales Region. Through this, you contribute to the continuous improvement of our processes, way of working and service offers dedicated to SGAM and MTS customer groups.

4) Responsible to drive the regional MTS initiatives by developing activities and action plans for the sales area aimed at growing our overall MTS business. This will be achieved by increasing our market share in the turnkey project area as well as by increasing the number of machines tooled up thru the development of a non-tooled machine strategy for our MTM partners and their agents & distributors.

5)Support the continuous development of Sandvik Coromant's long-term Digital Partner approach within the Sales Area, closely connected with Strategic Relations – MTS/Digital Partner.

6) To lead the SA GAM and MTS (or other functions having local responsibilities for Strategic Relations) teams are important aspects of this role as well.

7) To lead the channel management for business support and growth in the sales areas

The location for this position is flexible in SANA and travel is part of your job.

About you

We’re looking for someone with experience in an international environment preferable having managed a direct reporting and matrix organization. A good overall knowledge of the metal cutting industry is needed. You have good general management skills, including planning, organizing, controlling, leading and innovating, together with motivational and developmental skills. This is backed up by at least a bachelor’s degree in Engineering. Since we act in a global environment, your English skills, both verbal and written form, are of high quality.

You put focus on customer needs and future trends. You have successful experience from negotiations of commercial terms and conditions with industrial customers. Relevant experience from Account Management or Sales Management and MTM and project experience would be an asset. People management experience is of advantage
