Sandvik is currently seeking a Service Engineer who will be responsible for important customer assignments to perform systematic fault finding and providing prompt, correct and safe solutions. The role will work closely with customers using a specialist understanding of customers’ needs to act as a trusted advisor and determine the appropriate solutions, obtain customer satisfaction by installing, repairing, inspecting, and commissioning service, taking into account the customer and Sandvik’s considerations. To succeed in this role, you are expected to:
Independently conduct advanced and specialized inspections, fault finding, installations, repairs, adjusting/fine tuning and commissioning of products and equipment at customer site or own premises.
Determine the best approach, considering energy efficiency, environmental impact and maintenance costs when providing customer support.
Perform complex troubleshooting and repairs independently and provide technical feedback on important issues to TIM/TFM/CPI systems. (TIM = Technical Issue Management, TFM = Technical Feedback Management and CPI =Continuous Product Improvement process.)
Complete analysis of failed product and report on any abnormalities to the relevant party (e.g. Service, Product Support or PSSR).
Operate equipment proficiently to be able to test and diagnose issues independently.
Conduct and support warranty investigation.
Commission new launch products with different applications and solve relevant issues independently.
Develop routine work procedures (using the tools provided), according to safety standards.
Prepare and execute all activities in line with EHS and Quality, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promote awareness, including addressing unsafe activities to others.
This role is a full-time requirement based in Malaysia (Shah Alam KL). Travelling within the Sales Area, up to 50% of your time, is an essential part of the job.
Qualified technician in fields on mechanics, hydraulics, and electrics
Minimum 6 years of Sandvik Equipment Experience and 3 years of advanced trouble-shooter experience; hydraulic system
Proficient knowledge of the mining environment and application of equipment.
Strong proven safety culture
Strong customer service focus and motivation and determination to achieve targets and goals
Proactive, self-motivated and demonstrate initiative
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
