DSI is seeking an enthusiastic and devoted individual to join the Sales Team. The candidate’s primary function of the role will be rresponsible for all aspects of sales functions including technical support as well as growing sales revenues related to tunneling within Canada. Establishes DSI Underground Canada as the tunneling products and solution provider.

Reports to: CEO

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participates in the setting of business plan objectives and benchmarks with regard to marketing and sales budget and accountable to achieve margins establised for the year

  • Develops a sales call program 12 months in advance which is updated quarterly to ensure all customers are contacted on a regular basis

  • Recognizes and pursues marketing opportunities for the company’s existing tunneling products

  • Assists in analyzing competing companies and products to determine their strengths, weaknesses and how our company should position itself to counter or take advantage of these factors

  • Identifies and reports new opportunities on acquisitions, new product opportunities and new or unmet customer needs

  • Ensures regular visits to tunneling projects design teams and projects to meet with end users, designers, management, as well as purchasing reps, to ensure DSI is meeting the customer’s needs and gathers future information which will help drive forecasting, budgets and innovative solutions

  • Evaluates tunneling product and service marketability in terms of customers’ project requirements

  • Responds to tenders by completing the application in detail in coordination with other departments

  • Provides quotations for products and services

  • Acts to close deals and finalize contracts

  • Researches and develops lists of potential customers. Establishes long-term, ongoing repeat relationships

  • Utilizes sales reports to monitor sales activity by account to understand and address variances

  • Works to maintain an environment of trust and high morale among employees

Qualification and Requirement

  • Bachelor’s degree from a university program or college degree would be considered an asset

  • 10 years’ experience in sales related to tunneling

  • Technical knowledge of manufacturing practices

  • Tunneling Engineering/Tunneling Operations experience

  • Familiarity with the Canadian market Familiarity with Territory

  • Excellent oral/written communication skills

  • Strong technical and presentation skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer relations skills

  • Strong organizational skills and ability to establish priorities and meet tight deadlines

  • Results driven and able to work independently

  • Demonstrated analytical skills and ability to pay close attention to detail

  • In-depth knowledge of target tunneling market industries

  • Ability to travel up to 60% of the time

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Excel) and adaptable to various software programs

  • Able to train end users on installation methods of all DSI tunneling products

  • Bilingual in both French and English would be considered an asset
