Surface Drills Sales Engineer

Location: Greater Sudbury, ON or Miramichi, NB

Currently we have an opening for a Surface Drills Sales Engineer. The Surface Drills Sales Engineer is responsible for increasing sales of Sandvik products and services in their assigned territory. The Sales Engineer accomplishes this by providing optimal solutions to our customers using value-added selling techniques that present a full range of products and services. This position establishes and maintains effective relationships with customers, and internal and external stakeholders to effectively meet customer needs.

What you will be doing

  • Plans sales activities through market analysis to define the appropriate customers that will facilitate implementation of company strategy.
  • Stays up to date with customer needs and requirements.
  • Communicates effectively with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure an effective network of contacts to react to customer needs.
  • Negotiates agreements in collaboration with customers and business partners to reach the best solution.
  • Works with internal stakeholders to coordinate and align company products and processes that result in an optimized solution for the customer requirements.
  • Promotes the complete range of company products and services to satisfy customer requirements for both their product and application needs.
  • Actively sells our products and services by providing value-added solutions that meet our customers’ needs.
  • Actively seeks the sales order from the customer upon obtaining their agreement and buying with the proposed value- added solution.
  • Documents and reports sales activities including test reports and cost savings, and forecasts of business through monitoring of customers and competitors.

What you will bring along

  • Technical degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
  • 5 to 7 years’ sales experience with Surface and Rotary drills.
  • Product knowledge of Surface Drills and Sandvik equipment considered an asset.
  • Ability to establish and maintain healthy working relations and partnerships with key stakeholders.
  • Strong customer service and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent computer skills in related programming (Microsoft Applications, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a broad integrated team.
  • Strong training & presentation skills as well as interpersonal skills.
