Inside Sales Assistant

At the Sandvik Osprey site located in Neath, South Wales, world leading highly advanced materials are produced for a wide range of applications. The two main products manufactured by Sandvik Osprey are gas atomised metal powders and Controlled Expansion (CE) Alloys. Due to strong business growth, we are looking for an Inside Sales Assistant. The main purpose of the Inside Sales Assistant is to support the Sales Organisation, assisting with the full order cycle from quotation through to product dispatch.


Sitting with a team of Inside Sales Assistants you will report directly to the Sales and Operations Planning Manager. Your key responsibilities will be to deal with customer enquiries via the telephone or e-mails in a timely fashion. You will be responsible for preparing and issuing quotations using the Company’s IT system, check incoming purchase orders, dispatch details and production scheduler. Daily you will gain an understanding of the demand forecasts from customers and up-date the demand schedule accordingly.

You will work with the production department to understand the status of the orders and build excellent working relationship with other departments such as finance, Regional Sales Managers, Field Sales Representatives and Freight companies.

You will be based in Neath UK the majority of your time, but some occasional travel may be required.


We are looking for an individual with previous administration experience within a sales environment. You will provide administrative support to managers and dispatch. You will need to be proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with Excel and Outlook.

As an individual you will need be able work within a team and independently, be confident, pro-active, organised and be able to prioritise your own work load. You will need to provide outstanding customer service, and have excellent communication skills.

You will need to be educated to a minimal A level or equivalent vocational qualification. Knowledge of metal based products and specifications or a company selling engineering products would be desirable. Foreign language skills, preferably German, French or Italian would also be an advantage.

You will be based in Neath UK the majority of your time, but some occasional travel may be required.
