Education Level:

  • Certificate in Automotive, or similar Electro-mechanical Technology preferred
  • Associate degree in electronics, mechanical or related field preferred
  • Will need copy of degree or certification prior to employment

Preferred Job Experience:

  • Experience in a Heavy Machinery Mechanic role
  • Industrial electrician experience
  • Experience working with underground, maritime, construction, or Oil Field Heavy Duty Mobile equipment preferred

Skills/Special Training Required to Effectively Perform the Job:

  • Preventive maintenance, instrumentation, and calibration.
  • Diagnose and repair of Hydraulic systems, 12-24 volt electrical systems, sensors and controllers.
  • Diagnose and repair HV D/C and A/C motor and power circuits
  • Strong computer skills: Google Docs, MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel
  • Time management, scheduling and planning
  • Analysis and interpretation of data. Troubleshooting. Problem resolution
  • Teaching system diagnostic procedures to technicians
  • M.S.H.A. Certification USA work requirement

Responsibilities: List responsibilities/activities

  • Train technicians and operators on Artisan Machines and Equipment
  • Plan Battery Charge Bay infrastructure with mine sites
  • Ensure all tools and equipment are in-place to support machine operation
  • Connect machine and equipment to WiFi and ensure metric reporting on machine availability
  • Document operational issues for review by Engineering Teams, and suggest improvement actions to increase reliability
  • Communicate mine site operational improvements with management teams
  • Co-develop training and operation manuals with Engineering teams
  • Resolve machine and equipment operational issues
  • Ensure safe work practices by attending compulsory safety courses and meetings, use of required PPE, incident/accident reporting and ensuring total adherence to all Safety, Occupational Health and Environmental Policies, as well as other policies, procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure that all electrical faults are repaired according to OEM standards
  • Ensure all mechanical repairs on machines are to standards according to OEM specification
  • Ensure that facilities and equipment is being used safely and the appropriate work method is being applied
  • Provide reports according to assigned tasks
  • Working from oral, written, or electronically generated instructions perform skilled preventive maintenance, operations, adjustments, corrections, repairs, diagnosis or modifications to a variety of electronic/electro-mechanical equipment and components
  • Utilize a variety of procedures, manuals, drawings and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and components
  • Utilize a variety of precision measuring equipment to test for defective wiring and connections, micrometers to check for excessive wear on component parts and oscilloscopes/analyzers to troubleshoot, align, adjust, and calibrate circuits to effectively diagnose and repair system
  • Log Book documentation of all activities regarding work performed on the systems. Complete documentation in prescribed format and in a timely manner
  • Operate central control in a safe and efficient manner using Company and customer guidelines
  • Conduct vehicle recovery activities as required in a safe and timely manner

Job Requirements:

  • Must have or be able to pass underground miner safety courses listed above. Company will pay for all classes and certifications
  • You must have unrestricted authorization to work in United States, and or Canada, have a clear passport with the ability to travel within the United States, Canada and other countries for our US based company
  • Perform or assist with any operations, as required to maintain workflow and to meet schedule and quality requirements. Notify supervisor/manager of unusual equipment or operating problems and the need for additional material and supplies
  • Maintain safe work area and comply with safety procedures and equipment operating rules keeping work area in a clean and orderly condition
  • Participate in any variety of meetings and work groups to integrate activities, communicate issues, obtain approvals, resolve problems and maintain a specified level of knowledge pertaining to new developments, requirements, policies, and regulatory guidelines
  • Teamwork, cooperation, positive attitude and strong work ethic

Field Work Environment:

  • Underground 3000-8000 feet
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions
  • Occasionally exposed to extreme heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
  • Working with high voltages up to 780 volts, DC and DC-AC three phase inverters
