Kanthal, part of Sandvik Materials Technology, specializes in heating alloys, elements, modules, systems and connected services for industrial heating and high temperature applications. Primary markets are the semicon and solar industries, glass industry, automotive, steel, chemical and petrochemical and many other branches of industry in which a high level of expertise and reliability are needed in the delivery of industrial heat and heating solutions.

Key performance areas


As a Regional Sales Engineer you will be responsible to promote and sell Kanthal products and services within an assigned geographic area, product range, and list of customer accounts to achieve significant sales targets. You will be an integral and important part of the EMEA North Sales Team and work closely with supporting team members from our Stoke-on-Trent office and colleagues in the Nordics as well as colleagues from around the world.

The role requires a self-motivated, results-oriented sales professional with a strong technical aptitude and communication skills along with a passion to succeed. The Field Sales Engineer will develop new sales opportunities and optimize existing accounts to increase product market share and new product introduction. Interest and experience in territory management, new business development, and customer retention are primary factors of success.

You will Develop, Retain & Grow the sales and profitability within the assigned markets (UK South) for all Kanthal Products & Services.

You will be required to support the Sales Area Manager in establishing sales forecasts.

The role will require you to perform the following tasks: Prospecting, sales calls, product training, customer support/analysis, process/product recommendations, documented cost savings and CRM management.

Your profile

The Regional Sales Engineer must be a highly organized, outgoing self-starter. Apart from holding a university degree in an applied science, a business degree in a related field, or equivalent experience in a technical sales position, you understand and embrace new technology and have previously worked in an industrial setting. Networking and cooperation are in your DNA, and you have a well-developed ability to prioritize, follow up and conclude deals. You recognize that cultivating effective partnerships with our customers and delivering solutions that meet their current and future demands is essential to continued growth and success.

This is a field-based position, yet there is a possibility to have a desk at our Stoke-on-Trent facility. Location flexible, ideally around the Birmingham area/Midlands.
