The Sandvik Coromant operations in India covers all India and neighbouring countries of Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan and Sri Lanka. Sandvik Coromant in India, being operational since the very beginning of 1960 have created a wide and strong leadership platform for the core business of metal cutting carbide tools for the metalworking industry. The main customer base is within the automotive and ancillaries, defence sector, die & mould manufacturing and general mechanical engineering industry Scope.

Purpose :

Contribute by leveraging on knowledge and expertise in own work and in interaction with other parts of the organization. Contribute by sharing skills and best practice in the own function and/or geographic area/internal networks. Evaluate and use methods, tools and processes within the area of job responsibility. Work is performed by following given instructions and guidelines. Continuous development of own knowledge and expertise. Take decisions within a defined time frame.

The main scope of the work:

1. Develops, tests and maintains design programs and W-routine for automated production of necessary data for efficient design, manufacturing and market communication.

2. Implement methods and rules for parametric description of products in current systems.

3. Participates KDP/PDP projects as design automation resource.

4. Assists design programs to be executable for interactive users.

5. Assists designers responsible for current product families in the work of finding optimal design solutions from both product and production considerations.

6.Works to ensure that the product development process moves towards knowledge generation and knowledge reuse through the application of methods, techniques, platforms and systems, all with the aim of reducing lead times, increasing flexibility and quality in our products and processes.

7.Uses new CAD versions and features.

8.Follow project governance model for planning, working and closing of PDP and for project maintenance.

9. Explore opportunities to share best practice, experiences in own function, project and within department.

10.Take ownership for continuous development of own knowledge and expertise within design automation.

11.Capture and develop new ideas and applies them in a way that adds value to the business.

12.Take advantage of digital platform for improved efficiency at work and documentation.

13. Follow quality management system (ISO) for work instructions and documentation.

14. Participate in any other project, assignment as per department requirement and priority

This position reports to R&D Manager - India

Your profile

Be a Graduate in Mechanical/Production Engineering with exceptional talent and relevant skills to be considered. Have around 3 to 6 years of experience in Design automation role. R&D Function experience Knowledge in Unigraphix NX 12 experience in modelling, drafting, CAM, C++/Java programming, Office 365, SAP PLM Proven theoretical and practical foundation within the job area. Knowledge of Core Java programming language will be added advantage. Have good communication skills with strong interpersonal relations. Be a team player.
