R&D Support Technician

• R&D Support Technician (Part Time)
  • Normally scheduled Monday through Friday but may require other days as needed.
  • Normally FIRST shift (1st) but may require additional hours or other shifts as needed.

Summary/Job Purpose

Aid the R&D Department with Test Evaluations. Utilize test measurement equipment to document test results. Assist with Planning and Implementation of test Requirements.

Support Diamond Coating production.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Operation of Lab Microscope for test documentation.

• Operation of Lab SEM for test evaluation.

• Use of MS Work and Excel for test reporting.

Physical Demands

• Operation of Inspection Equipment usually from a Sitting position.

• Operation of Lap Top Computer, sitting or standing optional.

• Lifting of no more than 15 Lbs., standing for extended periods not required, frequency of movement as required for using test equipment.

Knowledge and Skills

• Basic knowledge in materials required, educational experience in Material Science or chemical engineering preferred.

• Efficacies with Microsoft Office required.

• Prior knowledge of scanning electron microscope fundamentals required. Experience running the equipment is a plus.

• Knowledge of working in a research environment preferred.

Education and Work Experience

• Required education would include High School Diploma, Associate Degree, or equivalent work Experience in Engineering and/or Material Sciences or Chemical Engineering.

• No Prior Experience or Training required.
