If yes, then this is an excellent opportunity for you. We are now looking for a Quality Manager to join our Surface Drilling Division’s Supply Chain team. This permanent position is based in Tampere, Finland where Sandvik has a global technology and manufacturing center for the drilling equipment.
About your role
As a Quality Manager, you lead quality as one function, from our suppliers to the delivered product. You are responsible for the quality assurance processes in production as well as the quality management and development of the supplier network. You are responsible for the product quality experienced by our customers in terms of our manufacturing and assembly quality. In your role, you ensure that our supplier network allows for an issue-free production process and a defect-free end product, for example by defining and utilizing applicable metrics and tools (e.g. APQP, 8D). You also plan and implement supplier audits. You participate in supply development projects and act as an important link between the supplier field and R&D.
You will strengthen quality culture in our production, and you will also participate in the measures of continuous improvement processes. You represent the quality function of the supply chain at the division level, and you cooperate closely with numerous stakeholders - in addition to the supply chain, for example R&D and product management are your key stakeholders. In this role, you report to the Operational Excellence Manager of the Supply Chain organization, and you act as a manager for Supplier Quality Engineers and for the Supervisor of quality control, who has 15 Quality Controllers in the team.
About you and your background
You will be successful in this role if you have a track record of supplier collaboration and supplier quality management and process creation. You have previous experience in the manufacturing industry with quality, either in the supplier, product, or production field. You have worked with quality management processes and tools and are familiar with, for example, APQP, SPC and Juran's trilogy. You also have Lean Six Sigma knowledge, and we appreciate you having a Green Belt level and an understanding of the principles of continuous improvement. You are used to problem solving by using e.g. the 8D process and are able to analytically identify development targets and build strong business cases. You are familiar with hydraulics, mechanics, and electrical engineering either through your degree or previous work experience. Previous leadership experience is not required, but we highly value good collaboration skills, in addition to manager responsibilities, you will do a lot of stakeholder work, in which good interpersonal skills are essential. You work smoothly in a team, but you are also capable of independent decision-making in changing situations. You have a suitable technical degree and fluent English language skills.
We offer you versatile and interesting tasks in a truly modern and safe factory environment, as well as the opportunity to develop your own professional skills and career. In addition, we offer good employee benefits and a corporate culture focused on sustainable development with values such as Innovation, Fair Play, Customer Focus and Passion to Win.
