The Kanthal Product Area specialises in heating alloys, elements, modules and systems for industrial heating and high temperature applications. Primary markets are the semicon and solar industries, glass industry, chemical and petrochemical industries and many other branches of industry in which a high level of expertise and reliability are needed in the delivery of industrial heat.

We are now looking for a Quality Technician to work within our technology team and contribute to the technical control of all manufacturing processes, providing front line support and initiating continuous improvements.

Job summary

As a Quality Technician you will support the Quality Manager to achieve the business objectives, by understanding the business drivers and giving efficient, reliable and proactive support relating to product quality. You will support with the creation and maintenance of quality management system documentation and conduct internal audits affecting quality, health & safety and environmental aspects.

You will also support with IT related activities on site, including installation of new computers, software and telephones.

You will ensure that our products comply with requirements, provide quality related training and support of operators to build quality. Performing and improving product inspection processes at all stages and performing calibration of monitoring and measuring equipment. You will participate in continuous improvement activities affecting the quality system and quality of products, including root-cause analysis and implementation of corrective action for product related concerns and customer complaints.

Your profile

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Educated to 4 SQA6 (higher) qualifications or equivalent, including English and Mathematics
  • Keen to learn and continuously develop their own knowledge and expertise
  • Highly computer literate with an aptitude for IT
  • Be a team player with a proven ability to think creatively and communicate at all levels
  • Have knowledge and experience of manufacturing techniques and principles
