We’re now looking for a highly perfoming professional to join us as Digital Transformation Change Leader – someone who is both ready and eager to support our lean and digitalization journey included in our Supply 2025 strategy (Supply is Sandvik Coromant name for Operations). You will support the definition and execution of the next steps of our Transformation 4.0 program, the Factory of the Future roadmap and the implementation of current lean and digital initiatives across all our sites worldwide. This job is a globally flexible position, offering a choice of one of several production units in the US (Mebane, NC; Westminster, SC), Europe (Gimo, Sweden; Katowice,Poland), or Asia (Pune, India).

About the job
As Digital Transformation (DX) Change Leader, you’re responsible for:

  • Supporting the execution of the Transformation 4.0 program

  • Supporting the upgrade and execution of the Factory of the Future (FoF) strategy

  • Supporting the further deployment of digitization through all our manufacturing sites globally

  • Special assignments such as:

  • Product Owner for digital solutions (Responsible for identification, prioritization and success of new digital solutions)

  • Agile Project Manager (Use agile project methodologies to manage the development of digital solutions)

  • Digital Adoption Manager (Oversee the deployment, training and adoption of new digital tools and Industry 4.0 technologies)

  • Establishing foundational lean manufacturing processes and managing turnarounds at production sites as an enabler of further digitization


You have solid experience and passion in lean and in particular digital trasformation in operations (i.e., manufacturing, quality, maintenance, procurement, safety) and understanding of shop-floor daily operations. You have developed a trained eye to spot improvement opportunities and waste elimination through lean and digital levers.

You master digital competences and have extensive experience on:

  • IoT and Industry 4.0 knowledge (technologies, solutions, partners) and their application to manufacturing operations

  • Implementation of digital solutions in the manufacturing space: demand management, solutions identification, project execution, UI/UX optimization, solution testing, scaling-up

  • Data analytics: understanding of data engineering, modelling, visualization

You master state of art project management methodologies (such as Agile methodologies) to implement projects in manufacturing

You have profound knowledge of operational excellence and lean principles, tools and methods and also how to execute lean in a manufacturing environment that has started their lean journey

You’re a positive force of nature, execution-driven and hands-on, a natural leader, a change ambassador, a coach and content sparring partner for the organization. You create a high level of trust and engagement when collaborating with key stakeholders during the implementation. You provide expertise in prioritizing and pacing project activities and milestones using Agile methodologies to achieve organizational objectivies within the budgeted costs and allowed timeframe. You enable the supply organization to own the transformation in the future.

By taking an active part in the actual content setup of our Lean and Digital Transformation, you have a unique possibility to shape the future of our production. You support our sites in defining and executing solutions that brings bottom line tangible impact. As you’re a part of a global team consisting of project leaders, it’s important that you can adapt your skills and knowledge into different organization levels, functions and geographies within supply.

In this position, you have a global responsibility for driving digitalization and lean evolution in Supply and this means that this role is mandatorily located in one of our manufacturing sites in the US (Mebane, NC; Westmister, SC), Europe (Gimo, Sweden; Katowice,Poland), or Asia (Pune, India). Travel is normally included in your job.

About you
It’s important that you have experience from working close to operations, to genuinely understand their challenges and possibilities, and you combine this with strong skills in change & lean management, digital transformation and indirect leadership. You have the ability to understand and solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables where only limited standardization/guidance exists.

You have:

Minimum 5-7 years of experience in agile project management and digital transformation in operations

Previous experience on digital transformations in operations is a must (preferred in reputable multi-national companies)

Previous experience in agile project management is a must (SCRUM certification would be a plus)

Previous experience from management consulting in operations and implementation is strongly recommended.


You also hold a M.Sc. in Engineering or Data Science, or the equivalent knowledge gained from a working career. Since we act in a global setting, you have open mind and cultural awareness, and you’re fluent in both written and verbal English. You have the ability to read, analyze, interpret and/or write professionally and have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, engineers, operators and customers. A second language between German, Swedish and Chinese is a plus.
