Business Unit Automation has end-to-end responsibility for product management, new product development, product marketing, manufacturing, supply chain and technical sales support for Automation in mining and construction industries. To strengthen our Product Support for OptiMine®, leading digitalization product suites and offering for mining we are looking for a dynamic and an energetic Product Support Specialist.
In this role, you will be a member of Automation product support group supporting mining automation aftermarket business. You are responsible for product support for OptiMine® suite for mining. You will provide sales areas and customer with technical support in all phases of OptiMine® product support and process optimization life cycle where real-time information sharing, and equipment data connectivity is paramount. You will provide remote and field support, systems start-ups and training support to sales areas and customers. Essential part of the product support is to help OptiMine® Product Line receive sales area feedback to improve OptiMine® product offering and competitiveness. We expect that you will perform your duties with a high degree of independence, initiative and judgment. You will work in close collaboration with product line, product development, project office and supply chain, training and product support. Succeeding in the job requires active communication between the key stakeholders worldwide. Your additional duties include:
Participate in and support new product and offering development projects.
Lead and support commissioning of OptiMine® systems in the field.
Lead and support full OptiMine® product offering and digitalization competence development and training activities both in the factory and in the field.
Own and ensure successful OptiMine® product offering customer demonstrations.
Participate in developing competitive product support to support automation business growth and life cycle-services.
Participate in resolving technical enquiries, provide diagnostic and product application support to sales area teams.
Work consists of wide range of daily support tasks for product support, product development testing, customer demonstrations, systems starts up, and trainings; special focus on ‘unit down’ situations.
Your skills and qualifications
- You have a Bachelor/master’s degree in engineering
- Proven experience in similar role within a mining and/or heavy machinery or relevant environment; typically, >5 years
- Good to excellent knowledge, skills and application know-how in automation systems, computer networks, smart heavy equipment, information management systems & networking.
- Good knowledge and hands on with software configuration, deployment, Database and windows services.
- Working knowledge of reading and interpreting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical schematics
- Proficient in heavy duty equipment maintenance and applications
- Basic understanding of data visualisation tools
- High interest towards advanced analytics
- Experience from machine telemetry solutions
- Capable of showing initiative, tolerance to stress and pressure and standing up for own opinions
- Good analytical, logical skills and attention to detail
- Interaction, networking and cooperation skills
- Proactive and systematic approach on problem solving in a multi-technical service request environment
- Strong EHS culture
- C/C++, CAN/CAN open and other field bus systems, TCP/IP, Embedded Real Time Linux skills (Optional)
Project work location will be based at Udaipur/SK Mines to start with and can change with business needs
