Seco Tools is seeking a Strategic Pricing and Profitability Manager, responsible for establishing and leading the Seco Tools North America pricing strategy and policy to improve company profitability while supporting company’s position in the market. While we'd like to have this role located in Metro-Detroit, we are comfortable recruiting outside of the state for the right candidate.

Profile And Position Summary

At Seco Tools, we believe in providing the best tooling and tooling support at a competitive price. Our Strategic Pricing & Profitability manager is an extension of that. In this role, you will be responsible for the pricing strategy, from establishing prices and handling activities to measuring pricing and sales performance.

We place great value on your personal qualities in this recruitment. You pride yourself in your blended experience of financial analysis along with sales and product management support. You are comfortable with collaboration, as you’ll have one direct report while also working with colleagues throughout the business as well as North America. You have a university degree in either Finance, Business Administration, or sales management and thrive in a family environment. As we recently grew by over 100 employees in Mexico, solid understanding of Spanish is a plus!

Duties & Responsibilities

Develop pricing strategy

  • Work closely with the Seco product management, marketing, sales, and global colleagues to coordinate direction and make decisions regarding product segmentation and list price strategy.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of pricing data regarding customer, cost and competition to support informed pricing decisions.

  • Develop and use analytical models and tools for making decisions, setting pricing direction and establishing strategy.

  • Work with Channel team to optimize rebate and discount strategies to maintain profitability while achieving desired results.

  • Lead the pricing team by building a common way of working with common processes while participating in performance development for the team to support their growth.

Establish customer prices

  • Develop, manage, communicate and implement contract pricing guidelines, facilitating the contract renewal process while measuring it on a quarterly basis.

  • Build customer categories, define pricing logic and set the appropriate discount levels. Build a matrix to be used in making pricing decisions for the Seco customer base.

  • Harmonize pricing for all Seco’s standard products within North America, including a competitive analysis to ensure price levels support sales goals and overall corporate profitability objectives.

Pricing activity administration

  • Negotiate, audit and coordinate all end-user pricing agreements.

  • Provide guidelines to Field Sales regarding price levels for field-negotiated contracts and/or conduct personal negotiations with end-users as the need arises.

  • Build and sustain auditing procedures for rebate programs working with our customers to ensure that rebate programs work within the program guidelines.

  • Evaluate pricing action and recommend adjustments to the pricing process to address.

Measure pricing and sales performance

  • Build and maintain periodic reporting to include Segment/Customer/Product discount levels.

  • Determine relevant metrics, reporting and follow-up process.

  • Develop and provide summary and detailed reports to evaluate the efficiency of customer pricing agreements relative to growth, price levels, profitability, etc.

  • Analyze customer profitability and find opportunities for improvement.
