JOB PURPOSE

We are seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team. This position will be located in Camarillo, CA Center of Excellence where cutting edge technology and teamwork come together.

The ideal candidate will effectively provide leadership and supervision for the assigned production team and associated personnel while maintaining a safe and effective work environment. They will have resourcefulness and creativity skills and the ability to employ strong multi-level group communication in order to meet target timelines, solve problems, and to report production status.

Education Level:

  • Trade School or on the job experience

  • Certificate in Automotive, or similar Electro-mechanical Technology preferred

  • Associate degree in electronics, mechanical or related fields are a plus

  • Electrical, hydraulic, or mechanical certifications are a plus

Job Experience:

  • Punctuality in regard to supporting staff schedule and opening and closing functions

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Proactive attitude and independent thinking

  • People skills and management experience developing training, mentorship, and providing motivation

  • Mechanical aptitude and familiarity with mechanical assembly or heavy equipment

Skills/Special Training Required to Effectively Perform the Job:

  • Computer aided drafting software (Solid works and NX preferred)

  • Experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and Bills of Materials

  • Prior experience with engineering change requests and Product improvement

  • Knowledge of Hydraulic, Mechanical, and Electrical assembly principles and print reading

  • Trade school or STEM Degree (Science, Technical, Engineering, or Mathematics)

  • Lean manufacturing training such as Kaizen or 6s

  • Overhead crane operation certification or experience

  • Injury and illness prevention experience, Risk prevention, and Compliance safety training such as OSHA 30

  • Ability to work with groups of people with varying levels of education, expertise and backgrounds

  • Strong technical and mechanical aptitude with ability to think outside the box

  • High level attention to detail and work quality

  • Display strong creativity and resourcefulness skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be self-motivated and a self-starter

  • Ability to achieve results through others

Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and supervision for the assigned production shift and associated personnel

  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, manufacturing document specifications, and B.O.M.; gathering necessary tools and materials

  • Effectively motivate, train, and communicate to assure superior levels of safety, reliability, and quality. Insure individual and team levels of performance meet or exceed goals and expectations

  • Develop an expert knowledge of the production process and all associated equipment. Be able to analytically and systematically troubleshoot manufacturing issues and develop the team to be self-directed in the same activities

  • Resolves assembly problems to meet specifications; notifying Manufacturing Manager to obtain additional resources and or approval

  • Documents actions stamping off on completed sequences and operations, utilize production application to assign and follow up on technician tasks

  • Prepare and conduct team meetings as necessary for proper communications and development of teams. Have the ability to work with the Engineering and Quality Assurance staff to create a cooperative environment on their assigned shift

  • Be able to perform daily checks and reports to ensure the highest quality of product produced within Good Manufacturing Practices as they apply to the production of the product. Maintain shift performance and quality documentation

  • Rework and/or repair assembled equipment and products according to engineering specification changes

  • Maintain expected progress of jobs in assembly area of assignment and communicate problem areas or parts shortages

  • Utilize various types of material handling equipment including hand trucks, carts, fork trucks, scissor lifts, bridge cranes et cetera where required

  • Working from oral, written, or electronically generated instructions perform skilled preventive maintenance, operations, adjustments, corrections, repairs, diagnosis, or modifications to a variety of electronic/electro-mechanical equipment and components.

  • Utilize a variety of procedures, manuals, drawings, and schematics to troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair systems and components

  • General knowledge of machines and equipment functionality, and how the tools can be used on such equipment/machines. This includes the ability to learn new systems quickly, understanding how parts relate, and how they impact system functionality. The position also requires manual dexterity or the ability to work quickly with hands

  • Ensure daily cleaning and maintenance schedules are adhered to and enforced

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Management

Job Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge in the usage of hand tools, handheld power tools, fabricating equipment, and portable air tools; ability to drill, ream, tap, and install heli-coils in various size holes

  • Observe good housekeeping and safety procedures and keep equipment, tools, and work area clean and orderly and a continued dedication to raising the bar

  • Exhibit teamwork in all you do, maintaining a positive and team-based attitude. Support peers in time of high demand by working hours assigned and overtime as required; also comply with scheduled start/stop times and break periods for the facility

  • Perform arithmetic calculations, read, and record detailed measurements, and ability to convert fractions to decimals / millimeters

  • Perform all work in accordance with quality standards and established safety procedures

  • Requires the ability to lift, pull, push, and guide medium weight objects frequently up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds

  • Must be fluent in reading and speaking English to properly interpret schematics and all documentation.
