A Manufacturing Flow Manager

We have an immediate opening for an Manufacturing Flow Manager located in Kennewick, WA.

Key Performance Areas


The Manufacturing Flow Manager position is responsible for the production operations and managing the operators within the assigned areas on the manufacturing floor while working with the management team to meet production targets. This includes responsibility of work product flows through the manufacturing processes and managing union personnel on multiple shifts. The Manufacturing Flow Manager provides leadership through effective communication and personal behavior, this also includes fostering the culture of a learning organization. They are responsible for administrative activities related to payroll, discipline, performance expectations and company policies. Flow Managers ensure union operators have effective training, communication of work expectations, and the creation of a safe and productive work

Job Responsibilities

  • Create and implement tactical production plans & controls to meet strategic planning objectives.
  • Maintain a safe work environment for all employees, completing routine audits to assess safety, quality and productivity in responsible areas
  • Guide and mentor Working Leads to effectively implement production plans and ensure a safe working environment is maintained, including an effective training process
  • Fostering and mentoring the continued efforts of a learning and changing organization, such as employment development and operational excellence.
  • Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for work centers within area of responsibility
  • Daily communication and reporting on KPI performance to the management team, and develop action plans for improvement when necessary
  • Implement company strategic programs and objectives as assigned (ie.. 5S, Safety, Continuous Improvement, Lean initiatives etc.)

Job Requirements

  • Candidates should have 3 to 5 years leadership experience in manufacturing or similar industry
  • Candidates should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Safety and Lean Manufacturing in a production environment
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred for this position, but a combination of secondary education and equivalent work experience will be considered
  • Must have proficient knowledge and use of Microsoft Office and possess general computer skills
  • Knowledge of related production flows to SSM’s manufacturing process would be a plus
