SALES AND OPERATIONS PLANNING MANAGER

A vacancy has arisen for a Sales and Operations Planning Manager in our Powders Group, the largest group within Sandvik Osprey. This role is responsible for managing the activities of the Inside Sales department, the Production and Resource Planning department and supporting the Powders Global Sales Organisation.
As Sales and Operations Planning Manager you will manage a team of Sales Administrators and Production/Resource planners to give prompt and accurate responses to enquiries and to deal efficiently with quotation, order entry and contract review for both the Neath and Sandviken (Sweden) powder production sites. You will keep track of the order book and ensuring that realistic lead times are quoted and liaise with the operations team to maximize ‘on time delivery’ service. You will develop and ensure consistent pricing strategies are implemented effectively, co-ordinate the freight tender process and liaise with SHEQ Manager on matters relating to MSDS and transport of goods. Co-ordinate new alloy meetings, reviewing customer specifications and liaise as appropriate with technical colleagues before approving and entering new alloys on the system. Gather and issue Sales and Production KPI’s, identify gaps and implement plans to improve. As required you will support Sales Managers on selected customer visits and conferences and coordinate, summarise and action results from biannual Customer Satisfaction Surveys. Obtain market and competitor intelligence through dialogue with customers and work with Sales Managers to develop marketing literature and feedback for the weekly Sales meeting. Provide weekly, monthly and quarterly sales forecasts and implement a Sales & Operation Planning system (to include Sandviken plants) with a forecast view of up to 24 months.
To be successful in this role you will need to be adept at working across boundaries; functional, geographic and cultural, to increase organisational performance and productivity. You will have a good understanding of financials and a strong, well developed, structured and organised way of working as well as excellent communication and project management skills. You must have extensive sales administration and customer service experience gained within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
