BEV (Battery Electric Vehicle) Artisan Project Manager

Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions (SMR) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a leading global supplier of equipment, tools, service, and technical solutions for the mining industry. The product offering covers rock drilling, rock cutting, rock crushing, loading and hauling and materials handling.

Key performance areas

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of the customer’s fleet of equipment, in accordance with contract specifications and SMR policies. You will work closely with the customer to identify and meet the customer’s expectations and defined KPIs. The Project Manager is also responsible for managing the workforce, safety plan, and fleet to ensure safety standards are consistent with the customer and Sandvik requirements.

In this role, you will review and assess mechanical maintenance plans, standards and financial budgets, including facility standards and work practices, to ensure compliance with contract requirements. In addition, you will review Project Plans to ensure heavy mobile equipment is maintained in a manner that supports production requirements and provides improvement feedback to customer, and monitor adherence of site maintenance operations to maintenance plans. This will involve using performance measures and KPI’s as developed within the framework of the contract, and you will be responsible for ensuring that the contractual KPIs are achieved (e.g. MTBF, availability, Safety, MTTR, etc). This role will also involve developing and implementing new or additional measures/plans as means of improving the quality and efficiency of the maintenance performance and work carried out by SMR.

Additionally, the Project Manager will:

  • Review the maintenance costs regularly with a view to continually improve contract cost efficiencies
  • Produce and or assist in producing the monthly invoicing and provide support for the Quarterly contract review
  • Provide equipment performance and applications feedback to SMR and customer as required
  • Mentor, motivate, train, evaluate and lead team members to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Process Support function.
  • Comply with SMR safety policies and applicable government, customer or industry regulations or requirements

Your profile

The Project Manager should possess a minimum of 10 years related experience in the mining or heavy processing industry, including 3-5 years of maintenance planning experience. In addition, you have at least 3 years of supervisory/management experience. Microsoft Office proficiency is required, and MS Project, Maximo, and other ERP system experience is preferred. You have demonstrated project management capabilities, and strong planning skills. A strong mechanical background and training is highly preferred, and a degree in a mechanical discipline would be a plus. Underground mining experience would also be a plus. PMP and/or MBA a plus.
