IT Manager, SMT China

The position would directly report to Manager Country Services Tube IT, below please refer to the job description:

  • Provide IT services to SMT business entities in China as per Global SMT IT service strategy.
  • Represent SMT IT China in all internal and external forums.
  • Represent SMT IT Singapore/Malaysia/Taiwan/Hong Kong in all internal and external forums.
  • Liaison with IT service providers (both internal and external).
  • Ensure IT services are received by China SMT Business as per applicable SLA and agreed Cost.

Key performance area:

  • Manage Business stakeholder relationship by establishing key result areas and following up with Key Performance Indicators and Service Level Agreements.
  • Shall be the single point of contact for SMT IT in China for all common IT services delivered by both internal and external IT vendors.
  • Consolidate business requirements of common applications from business users or production IT and represent business for ensuring timely delivery from respective IT delivery team and challenge IT deliverables to meet and/or exceed expectations of the business.
  • Secure support and maintenance of local/regional used applications (HR, EPO, Expenses etc).
  • Drive new implementations / enhancements of common applications as per business needs.
  • Manage all special projects based on request from SMT business area (ex: PU Kanthal or PU Tube or SU SMT or R&D etc.) and create project plan.
  • Should have good understanding of end-to-end business process with any standard ERP including basic tax and financial compliance knowledge.
  • Observe and flag various compliance changes and its impact on SMT China as per each Product area IT landscape.
  • Monitor and follow-up IT Project Dashboards, to ensure business commitments are met and if needed influence the current Projects so that it gets delivered as per priority.
  • Manage & follow up IT Costs - Ensure costs are agreed with respective service providers and all charges are allocated to the business on time with agreed allocation keys and take ownership of all IT costs from IT service providers.
  • Creation and execution of common country level IT plan together with SMT IT to meet the goals and objectives of SMT IT strategy.
  • Responsible for - IT General Controls, IT Risk Analysis, IT Assets Lifecycle Management.
  • Manage Common IT demands, country level IT projects and enhancements of specific common applications & infrastructure.
  • Collaborate among internal and external stakeholders (Vendors) with standard process (ITIL) to define, analyze, measure and control business expectations.
  • Maintain Networks, Datacenter facility, Servers and other infrastructure component across all sites of SMT in China (Also locations in Singapore/Malaysia/Taiwan/Hong Kong) according to SMT IT global structure.
  • Provide end user services as per SMT IT global way of working.
  • Budget and control of all IT Costs

Your profile:

  • Bachelor of Tech in Computer Science, IT or MCA
  • Minimum 10 years of total IT experience.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in leading team of IT resources.
  • Minimum experience of 5 years in collaborating with IT service providers (Internal & external).
  • Experience in delivering IT services in a medium manufacturing company.
  • Good Knowledge of ERP & Infrastructure ex: LAN / WAN, data center etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging with leadership level stakeholders.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
  • Project Management experience
  • Capability to understand entire business model and translate with meaningful insights to support business growth using technology.
  • Experience from working in a global company handling demands from multiple stakeholders.
  • Should have good understanding of any standard ERP, CRM tools.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skill.
  • Exceptional commitment, self-motivation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Fluent in English speaking and writing

  • Anticipated travel: Up to 30 %.
