We are now recruiting for a SAP IT Service Owner (P4) - for a permanent role in our Dublin Office.

Job Purpose

The purpose of the SAP IT Service Owner role is to lead and own the delivery of SAP services to the business in line with defined service levels, quality standards and continual service improvement requirements agreed with the business. The individual will be required to actively own service risks, control service costs, manage operational stability, improve productivity and response times, manage high complexity contracts with 3rd party service providers and continually improve cost effectiveness and service quality of the SAP support.

The individual will be required to maintain and develop the global SAP Support capability within Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Business Area by engaging with third party suppliers and internal support teams as the SAP technology footprint grows. This role is responsible for proactively managing third party suppliers in a service partnership that delivers as one team to the business.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of the support model design together with the business side System Owner as the SMR SAP service footprint grows and engage with the necessary business and IT stakeholders to gain acceptance
  • Understand SAP and industry best practices in the area of support and consider this within the continuous support model development and improvements
  • Works closely with the business, IT and service providers to negotiate and agree on service level requirements of any proposed new services and changes to existing services
  • Coordinate activities with service providers
  • Agree contractual terms with service providers for functional and technical support services and SLAs
  • Develop and manage the internal functional and technical service management and support & maintenance capabilities
  • Define, follow and regularly report the proper metrics and KPIs in evaluating service delivery and performance levels
  • Evaluate and link supplier performance to invoice approvals and contract renewals
  • Manage internal approvals for external purchases/contracts
  • Control total SAP service related IT costs
  • Plan and prepare Service / AM transition principles and processes to ensure operational stability for new and amended services
  • Design, plan and manage the transition of support services from the projects post go-live support team to the enduring business as usual SAP support team
  • Manage the end to end SAP support services for business as usual operations
  • Manage continuous improvement initiatives focused on increasing efficiency, cost effectiveness and service quality to the business
  • Coordinate with different software vendors and application support teams to resolve integration issues
  • Ensure application governance model and processes are in place and adhered to
  • Facilitate the development of the SAP support and knowledge repository
  • Define and maintain the SAP service catalogue
  • Own and manage the overall SAP change roadmap for maintenance, upgrades, small changes and minor enhancements ensuring that all changes are appropriately implemented, tested, approved and communicated.
  • Liaise with ongoing transformation programmes, that are driving changes to SAP applications, to ensure conflicts in the SAP change roadmap are avoided and / or managed
  • Ensure adherence of security policies and standards
  • Acquire and manage SAP licenses with the business, System Owner and IT Sourcing
  • Other tasks as required and directed by your line manager

Experience

  • 5+ years experience in a similar position
