Sustainability Intern
Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions is a global leading supplier in equipment and tools, parts, service and technical solutions for the mining and infrastructure industries. Applications include rock drilling, rock cutting, loading and hauling, tunneling and quarrying. The focus lies on bringing value to customers through high-performing products that increase productivity and safety as well as to provide services and flexible maintenance programs that extend uptime and cut costs.
The Role
To promote sustainable social, economic, cultural, and environmental development. This will evolve a blend of grassroot projects, fieldwork projects, environmental, social and economic research projects.
Coordination of all customer CSI/ESD initiatives and ensure all customer CSI//ESD initiatives are recorded and reported.
Key Responsibilities
Use a variety of research methods to analyze and report for corporate sustainability projects and programs.
Stay abreast of trends in renewable resources, sustainable work processes, and environmental science.
Ensure proper sustainability benchmarks are established and maintained using economic, social and corporate governance measures, standards, and methodologies.
Assist with conducting audits to ensure BBBEE/Localisation compliance.
Involvement in localization initiatives.
Co-ordination and overseeing of relevant governance committees.
Prepare monthly feedback reports for relevant governance committees.
Capturing and upkeeping of monthly data analytics.
Profile Required
Diploma/Degree in Business Management, Environment Science or equivalent qualification.
Business Analytics Skills.
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently at all levels.
Maintain confidentiality.
Ability to execute outputs with precision.
